Hey now, I wasn't much fond of tree hugger, but she still doesn't deserve banishment. Even if she would've fit in well at Elmo's World.

Not bad episode, but I still found some issues in it I didn't like. First off, considering that not long ago, Discord betrayed Celestia and main 6, and all of the sudden Discord and Celestia are friends. Futhermore, Celestia once again was useless, and this time they even presented it. A bit green guu on her horn, and puff, she is powerless. Oh, and do I even need to mention the fact that she did nothing when one of her subject was being banished to another dimention and main 5 were captured by Smoose. At least main 5 tried to do something.
Not only Celestia invited Discord, but even found it entertaining that he almost banished one of her subjects to another dimention. I really don't understand what they are trying to do with Celestia and why Luna once again wasn't present, but her reckless behavious and how useless she is whenever something go wrong distracted me from this episode.

Well if you think about it was Discord who invited the Shmooze and we are not told where he comes from but given Discord's home.. It is possible that is where it came from and that place and that could affect a being who represents order and no one really is quite sure what stuff the Shmooze is made of so I can accept the fact that they could do nothing magical against it and it's well known from the first time we seen the mane six at the galloping gala that Celestia considers the galloping gala to be a total bore but other than that you do have a point and I too asked myself where is LUNA!!!!

Well, the first time Celestia screwed up gala for entertaiment was fine, because it invilved only minimal damage that could be solved with some cleaning. In here, one pony was almost banished and main 5 was captured by Smoose, and who know do they would die, should he gulp then. I am sure Celestia had a lot of fun watching how her subject was being banished to another dimention and her most loyal and brave heroes being eaten alive by monster of unknown orgin.
The issue for me is that Celestia is not only not doing anything useful, but sometimes makes everything worse. She even risked entire Empire just to test her student. If Celestia had at least some control of the situation or tried to save the pony that was being banished, or showed at least a bit of concern and competence in times of danger, or showed some distrust towards Discord whose betrayel nearly doomed all of Equestira, I would be fine with it, but for now all I see is a failure who likes to risk her kingdom and Twilight's life for her own entertaiment, often pushing her burden of protecting her kingdom and fighting her enemies into others.

I'm not denying that Celestia's is useless in the story.. In fact I'm saying you have to consider Celestia's past performance...She has been useless as far back as the first episode by disappearing and then she reappears in the second episode with no reason r explaining for as to why she even disappeared in the first place.. When you think of it that way then it makes sense that she'd let things get out of hand just to get a laugh and yes it's obvious except for raising the sun she lets others do her real work for her.. While I'm too sure if that is Hasbro's neglectful ways for treating her that way or simply a means to get the story across I too don't think I'd care to be under her rule if she's that bored......

If she is that bored, why she always refuse to participate in the action and assist for a change. I just feel like show writters shoot in our faces "She is useless and always will be, and we will always just seek excuses to make her useless for the sake of the story rather than allow participation, deal with it."

I agree but being bored can cause one to do strange things instead of dealing with it by finding something positive to do I remember this one time a storm knocked out my power for two weeks and when you have nothing to do.. You can find yourself sitting at home wishing something would happen to break the boring....lol.... But I do admit It would shock me if they used her in way that is a positive role.. And yes I do think the writers find a way to make her useless... Xp....
