Description The Doctor cranked a final lever to stabilize the TARDIS as it landed. He quickly checked his reflection and straightened his black bow tie, which he hoped went well with his cream white blazer, black pants and shoes. It was hard to tell, being a bow tie and fez-wearing alien but he knew River had particular tastes in what he wore, and he never turned down the chance to impress her on a date.
"River, are you ready yet?"
"One second, sweetie," she called back. She appeared in the console room moments later. The Doctor's hearts fluttered as he admired her slim green dress, cut at just the right length in all the right places, and accented dashingly by her red high heels. He ran up to her and took her hand, leading her to the TARDIS doors. He gentlemanly pushed open the door, letting go of her hand, and invited her to take the first steps out with a wave of his arm. She did just that, and the Doctor followed her out, the TARDIS doors clicking shut behind them.
River gasped in astonishment. "What is this place? It's...beautiful," she breathed, the starlight flickering around her like she was walking through fairy dust.
"This is Lopic Formus, which translates to 'Shine Evermore' in Rashilian," the Doctor explained, "It shines like this all day, every day - which by the way is 37 hours, and is based in the system of-"
River gave him a look, and he realized he was not exactly enhancing the romantic factor by technical-izing everything. "...So, what do you want to do, Ms. Song?" the Doctor asked, opening his arms to gesture to the scenery all around them.
"It looks all a bit...the same," River said.
"The same?!" the Doctor echoed, frustration edging his tone.
"I'm just kidding, sweetie. Lighten up, or you'll go regenerating on me!" River teased. "Come on!"
This time, she was the one to grab his hand and lead him away. The Doctor, relieved that River really did like this place, stumbled along behind her until they arrived at the base of a mountain where, if they looked up, they could see wisps of silvery clouds circling the peak. River looked excitedly at the Doctor, and he reflected it. "Let's go," River said ambitiously.
"What, to the top?"
"Of course to the top!" River exclaimed. She looked at her feet and realized she was wearing nothing close to the correct footwear, so with a kick of her feet, she tossed them off. The Doctor did the same, though he didn't really need to - but what was the point of ruining shoes that are perfectly good for running; a frequent activity of his?
"Won't your dress tear?" the Doctor worried, looking her up and down.
"You'd like that, wouldn't you?" River replied flirtatiously. The Doctor blushed at the thought and stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to do with his hands. River laughed and turned back to face the mountainside. She took the first few steps up, and the Doctor followed after his blush had dissolved.
The climb started off easy, but got harder and harder as they neared the peak.
"River...do we...have to go all...the way...to the top?" the Doctor gasped between heavy breaths as he pulled himself up another few feet onto another ledge.
"Oh, come on. Only a few more ledges to go, and we'll be standing in pure starlight," River encouraged. She reached down to help him up the next one, and he took her hand gratefully. As he made it over the last ledge, or rather, River dragged him over it, he looked up at the blazing clusters of stardust around him. As far as he knew, this was the only planet that had both breathable oxygen and stardust within the same atmosphere. Whether it was really stardust was debatable, but all he really cared about was-
"Oh, Doctor. Thanks for bringing me here. It's...marvelous," River gushed. The Doctor smiled at her and sat down to catch his breath while he gazed out into the starlight. River came to sit next to him and leaned her head on his shoulder. After a few minutes, when he'd caught his breath, he stood up and took River's hand - again.
"We're not leaving already, are we?" River said with a hint of disappointment in her voice.
"Ha! Not even close, dear," the Doctor assured. He pulled her close and they began to dance slowly, following the rhythm of the stardust flickers and the music of the singing breeze.
"Why, Doctor, how romantic of you," River said gently.
"No need to sound so surprised," the Doctor replied.
"I didn't know you knew how to two-step," River admitted. The Doctor looked at his feet and immediately felt them entangle themselves, knocking him and River both to the ground. "Neither did I," he laughed.

Okay...so, basically just a pile of feels right here. I think this would be really beautiful to actually see, and I just couldn't resist pouring in a good dose of cute Doctor clumsiness!

Ooh, "Shine Evermore" I like that, great name.

Lol! Naturally she had to drag him up.

Loved the end! It wasn't what I expected her to say, so it was all the greater for it. And naturally he was graceful, until she mentioned it. LOL!

And you're right, that would magical to see.

Thank you for this.

Haha, I noticed that too and it's something I meant to fix but I forgot - soo, no...not that I wouldn't mind if she ever was.
