Isn't there a scene in the movie where the Time Traveller's wife asks her husband what it would be like if a time traveller fell in love with another time traveller and his response was something like 'it's best not to think about it'.
My mind immediately went to an image of River and the Doctor meanwhile walking out into some other planet's sunset.
