Description Tried to do a layer animation/process thing of the Peryton painting. Thought maybe someone might be interested I did the bg separately so that's why it's just like BAM suddenly background XD

This gives the gist of how I work, I usually only have one 'active' layer (by that I mean I duplicate the layer I've been drawing in, then carry on working, then duplicate...rinse repeat...so I end up with a whole evolution of layers by the end of it.)

You can view the details from the painting here

Wow, it's really great to see the development and adjustments you made to theΒ Peryton! I tend not to make so many changes when I work; I should learn from you xD

Thanks! I'm always interested to see how other people work so thought I might as well show people too Often I don't make huge changes but I was very nit-picky about the wings on this (plus my partner wandered in at one point and said 'the wings are weird' and I was like ugghhh at least tell me how?? XD)

Ah I see. About how long did the whole process take? Seeing just the final work makes it hard to gauge the time you spent, but seeing the process, I imagine it took a long time. o_o

Yes this one did take a long time, longer than usual because I was experimenting with style and did some major changes (like the wings) part way through. Also because I painted it so big (I don't know if that shows at all in the details here:kettlequill.deviantart.com/art… but that's mainly why I spent so long on it.) So if I had to guess, and I am really not sure, I would say this took me 15+ hours. At least, because I stopped and started a lot. I'm afraid I can't be more accurate than that though :/ but you've made me decide to time myself from now on : D

Interesting process; it's quite similar to how I work as well. Thanks for uploading! It's quite helpful
