I'll be at the So Cal Comic Con [link]This weekend. Come by and see this art finished and in person!!!! Along with pages from my zero issue releasing as a con exclusive at the new york show in october. The pages are drawn 18x24 so I'll have to show snap shots for now.

yup i'll be at NYCC so i'll add you to my places to stop and visit, i've been looking forward to seeing Hex in print. Now are you self publishing this? Will you have any of the originals on display in NY?

The zero issue will be self published with a limited print run and exclusive to cons and thru my website. Meaning it wont be solicited thru diamond. The regular issue will be published through Image. I'm looking forward to seeing you at the NYCC!

Wow! Another excellent illustration, Keucha. How do you conceive of these ideas? You must do thumbnails to plan these drawings, right? I was about to give up doing art with traditional media like real pencils and ink in favor of digital paint programs but after seeing this piece I'm convinced that digital art just doesn't have the same impact as the real thing. I'll definitely be doing more pencil drawings from now on!

I draw what I like. The idea and concept really dictates your design. This characte is vital to the story and meaningful to me. It came naturally, but it wasn't forced, and it took some time. I'm starting to realise that when a design is right, your gut will tell you. In my opinion, nothing beats a pencil drawing....no tricks...no filters. Don't get me wrong. I love computers and the digital medium and use it all the time.
