A very nice and extremely informative tutorial for, in my opinion, one of the most difficult things to draw on any dragon- the feet!! Honestly I can take a pointer or two from this wonderfully informative yet simple tutorial, since I, like many artists, suffer while trying to draw draconian feet. The comparison between the right way and wrong way really helps to drive home just what the correct way to draw a dragon's feet and legs are, and can really be a valuable asset to the budding draconian artist or someone just needed a brush up on their dragon anatomy. The ease of use and examples of different styles and shapes can really help anyone who reads this tutorial. A bit more in the way of shapes and styles of feet would be nice, but what's pictured here is more than enough for the beginner just looking for a simple yet detailed walk through on drawing feet for their dragons.

Yeah, I too wish I could've added more variety in the types of feet there are. I guess I just got lazy. Maybe sometime time in the near future.

It's alright. You can draw more varied feet than I can! I have the worst time with even generic dragon/saurian feet. So the fancier versions... I can scarcely imagine.

Well, because you're such a great person, I would encourage you to draw my dragons to help you with technique and stuff. I mean, if you want.

Currently I'm experimenting with different body styles and anatomical features. I'm going between traditional and generic dragons to ones with radically different features- like from my Heart's Blood picture to my Animavoro Ignisono ref sheet. I'm challenging myself with new and different features.

I might just look at some of your dragons and practice with them. I'm pretty sure it'd be worthwhile and helpful. :3

Interesting work, but I disagree with what you said about all dragons being reptiles. They are, in their own, individuals, a different catagory all together.

In previous mythologies, dragons have characteristics of reptiles. In my opinion if they were real, they would derive from a common ancestor with dinos, croc, and other reptiles. For this reason, I don't really like cat like furry dragons with hair.

True, I too look at the past, but what I refer to is the cold bloodedness. When an animal is cold blooded it tends to be slow and drag itself, even scientists are fuzy about the dinosaurs, due to the fact that they were upgoing. Also plenty of the dinosaurs are actualy bird based, many have bird hips, and also have feathers, so maybe they were most likely big birds.

well dragon feet are kinda like the dinosaur's... i flipped through pages of a book about them. but instead of reading it, i study their structure. and that's how i learned how to draw dragons...XD it's so fun learning new stuff...

wow... now i know that there is someone like me learning how to draw by observing. cause usually, people i know only learn by asking other people who knows how to draw...>.>
i'm bad at teaching...

Yeah, to tell the truth, I've never taken any drawing classes in my life. All I know if from looking at other artwork and picking up tips from some tutorials.
