So I simply had to do a full-color follow up to yesterday's 'The First Enlisted Stormtrooper' cartoon...This is what happens when you push the new guy too far. X.x

well technically, their aim apparently sucks due to there being a problem with their guns

Fail on their part, then.
When in the movies did they mention 758935720187439825739204 malfunctioning guns, though...?

i think it was mentioned in an encyclopedia for the star wars universe...although it would make sense if all the stormtroopers were freaking cross-eyed

Actually, its funny...but the comics and books go the other way. A clone trooper...even an old clone trooper...would totally whoop tail on stormtroopers regardless of the storms being clones or recruits.
Storms come in several flavors.
(1) Kamino Clones- very very rare by the time of Episode IV, because of the Clone Master Rebellion...eluded to in the game Battlefront II, and in the canon books. Kamino clones are heavily trained and specialized.
(2) Spaartani Clones- the most common if over whelming number of Stormtroopers and late Clone Troopers. Fast Cloning processes that allowed the clones to be fully "test tube" matured in less than 3 years...further than that you risked clone madness, which Admiral Thrawn in the Thrawn Duology corrects with the use of Ysalmiri Force repelling creatures...which then made Spaartani Clones available in hours instead of years...because the Force caused clone madness. [Also the overall effectiveness of Spaartani Clones totally depends on their mental programming regimine...depending on how thorough or not, the Spaartani cloned Stormtrooper...can be variably effective...or a nightmare. In the case of Thrawn trying to create a stormtrooper with his mind and strategy skills.]
(3) Ge-Mod- a lesser known process than the Spaartani and Kaminoian cloning style. Ge-Mod...is the process of invidualizing the clone pool by genetic manipulation...only hinted at, as part of the Stormtrooper legions makeup, since the Ge-Mods were not always the "perfect" copy like Kaminoian and Spaartani cloning procedures.
(4) Recruits-your regular human wash ups and hopefuls trying to get into the white armor. Casualty rates among these guys is about the same as the cloned stormtroopers since very few Imperial officers value the lives of their troops. Depending on which world you were sent to for training, would invariably effect your combat efficiency. In the pre-Episode IV (Dark Times the 20yr hole between Episode III and IV)...and post Episode VI...Carida was the most elite stormtrooper training ground in the Galactic Empire. Later on though the Empire of the Hand in the Unknown Regions became the most elite stormtrooper training force. While specialists like the ISB (Imperial Security Bureau were even better)...with Storm Commandoes and Black Hole (Shadow Trooper) Storms taking the lead.
Stormtroopers were being recruited even during the Clone wars...and probably were operating in mixed or independent units with the clone troopers during the clone wars. First they were all male, then overtime and under the leadership of Admiral Daala they allowed females...under Thrawn and the Empire of the Hand all species of sentient life were allowed for stormtrooper operations. The 501st Legion being the most famous for "surviving" destruction at the Second Death Star.

I think a problem that Stormtroopers suffer from is the 'Horde of Ninjas' effect. Any mook, no matter how powerful, is rendered completely ineffective when fighting in a group.
But when they kinda suck on their own....
Yeah, that's not a recipe for a happy ending.

Logic dictates that the best weapon is being centric to the plot.
A trendy coat, a nice name, and being a badass also helps.
