6 million is how many Jews were killed. 12 million is the total.
Why Austrians specifically?

Yeah, I should've done research first. I admit I can be lazy sometimes.
I guess that's unfair. Austria's not to blame. They didn't know.

Random question, and maybe I'll save this for MAGfest if i forget/dont get a response.
But how do you handle drawing glasses?
I know that you dont often draw yourself with glasses, despite actually wearing them in person. I have a hard time drawing them on my cartoon versions of myself and others. They get in the way of my expressions and such, unless the glasses are really big and have a thick, defined frame.
Do you have any tricks or tips on getting around that? And is that also why you rarely draw yourself with them/draw them partially under your eyes?

kevinbolk In reply to Gileum [2012-11-13 02:15:11 +0000 UTC]
That's why I o I draw eyes so big that glasses either have to be enormous or minimally represented in order to keep them from cutting through the eyes or making the face too busy . That's really a stylistic choice though, you have to experiment until you find something that's pleasing to you.

Gileum In reply to kevinbolk [2012-11-13 11:40:30 +0000 UTC]
Gotcha. I always fall into this idea that the eyes have to fit behind the glasses like mine really do. But it's a cartoon. You only really need to keep as much realism as you choose.
I dont like to go with the "solid lense" schtick unless I think it fits the purpose. Kinda like how my DA icon is super cartoony, as though my glasses ARE my eyes. But in other instances, I have difficulty keeping the face from being busy as you mentioned.
I'm sure I'll find a good solution somehow. Thanks for the protip~ See you at MAGfest!

I've never been fond of this term at all.
I'd much rather people say "Grammar Perfectionist".
And I agree with Fox914; It demonizes the person who checks-up on spelling and tells the corrections.
And besides; helping with grammar isn't always a bad thing! What if someone is new to English and doesn't understand it too well? English is a pretty tricky language; not only to foreigners, but to native-speakers too! xP

I miss having pride in being a "Grammar Nazi".
Now it has moved on to a point where everyone claims they are a grammar Nazi, and going out of their way searching for useless situations to correct things. Thus, sounding like a pretentious snob.
Half the time their grammar isn't particularly great either.
Maybe I should switch to being a "Hypocrisy Nazi".

I'm not fond of the term because it demonizes people who like to think that there should be SOME sort of standard.
All's fair in love and war and the Internet though. I think all but the most stringent people realize that : P

Grammar Nazis type in either Arial or Heilvetica.
But speaking seriously for a moment, Hitler and the Nazis have become a replacement for the phrase "I don't have any good rebuttal."

It's really annoying whenever I want to write it's with my phone - it never wants to write it's, only its, even if I try to save the word in my wordlist! >n<'
Otherwise, I like it.

Grammar-checking word balloons...sounds about right.
I never really liked the term 'Grammar Nazi' but I don't know any other term that can tell people how much it bugs me if they use the wrong 'there' or 'your' (sorry, but using the wrong one just changes the whole meaning of the sentence -.-).
Funny how this joke seems so clear, yet nobody's ever thought of it before. Nice one!

Heil Spellcheck! XD
There are two kinds of Grammar Nazis. The annoying and the helpful kind. Sure it helps knowing your grammar yet it alienates people doing that over and over, bitching on about it.
Yet when someone constantly uses "your" when "you're" is in place... that's just not right. That's not internet grammar, it's just gramatically a totally different meaning. It's the difference between "knowing your shit" and "knowing you're shit" to put it bluntly. When someone tells me "your an idiot" or even "ur an idiot" then he's the one coming off as one because I don't own an idiot.
And while the term is, in lack of a better term, bullcrap, the attitude behind it is not necessarily bad. I can understand someone talking to a friend in a slacky grammar, yet on the internet, anyone could read it.

I think this got started as a twist on the whole "Soup Nazi" think from Seinfeld--a show to which I'm not partial, either.
But chyeah, Grammar Police, for the win. We need uniforms.

I hate it, my gf always uses the word Nazi. For example "My mom is such a Nazi" or "My teacher is a Nazi" and worst "The trailer park people are all freaking Nazis".
One day my sister was saying "My friend's mom is dating a Nazi." and my gf asks "Why is he so mean?", my sister says "Um... He hates Jews and loves Hitler for one thing!" "O_O"
