Read the rest of "I'm My Own Mascot!" here: www.kevinbolk.com/comic/mascotβ¦Three days before thanksgiving I started having massive tooth and jaw pain. Went to the doctor and found out it was due to a massive cavity in one of my back molars. The soonest they can get me in for a dentist visit is after the Thanksgiving holiday, so I got to enjoy my family's amazing food through a haze of painkillers and antibiotics. Still, it was pretty darn good.. This will be my first dental appointment in nearly 20 years, so I'm a little freaked out. I'm borderline crazy about brushing, flossing, and taking care of my teeth specifically because I never wanted to go to a dentist. It's one of those fears of mine. X_x

Don't worry once you start going to the dentist it's no big deal..... coming from the girl that has to go every four weeks and has had 3 surgeries already and more to come.... you know what... you're right... the dentist sucks.... >_>

hey, it happens. Don't care for your mouth and then you get cavities. Good thing you caught it unfortunately because if you didn't that sucker could've made you really hurt!! I heard a story that someone actually died from septicemia (toxins and bacteria in the blood) caused by a massive cavity infection that got into the bloodstream... which is probably why they got you on antibiotics. Dude... I know what those painkillers feel like. I feel for you! @ LOL at the dramaface.

i got a big ass wisdom tooth pulled recently, my first densist trip in over ten years. It was grand. 3 injections - pinch pinch pinch and then *plop* there's a giant hole in my gum. easy!
injections into the gums hurt waaaaay less than on the rest of the body

I went to the orthadontist the day before thanksgiving and got my braces tightened..... It sucked.

Awww! I can understand the 'not having been to a dentist in years' thing. I haven't been since I was 6 because my mom's scared of them. I try to take good care of my teeth, but about a year ago, I wound up breaking one of my wisdom teeth on a candy bar. Now I have half of it, but luckily no root is exposed, so I'm just going with it.

Huh, I don't think I ever had a cavity for as long as I can remember. And I'm not even incredibly picky with brushing my teeth (can't brush my teeth too hard because my gums are really sensitive).

AAAAAAAAAAGH!!! Believe me, man, totally understand ya! I got a serious tooth decay some years ago. Now my molar has an artificial crown, made of resin. It's not the same, since I feel some pain drinking cold beverages, eating ice cream or hot food.

I've been in A&E once (for myself) and even that wasnt serious... just a fractured finger.
I went to the doctors once last year because of major stomach pain.
and was only given antibiotics O_o
