Went to the doctor and found out it was due to a massive cavity in one of my back molars. The soonest they can get me in for a dentist visit is after the Thanksgiving holiday, so I got to enjoy my family's amazing food through a haze of painkillers and antibiotics. Still, it was pretty darn good.. This will be my first dental appointment in nearly 20 years, so I'm a little freaked out. I'm borderline crazy about brushing, flossing, and taking care of my teeth specifically because I never wanted to go to a dentist. It's one of those fears of mine. X_x

Hah. My teeth are ridiculously strong for whatever reason, so I only ever have to brush every coupla days.
And sometimes I forget to use toothpaste.

I feel you on that....I had a bad dental experience so it's one of my biggest fears. D8 Though mine was just incompetent dentists who didn't care to check I was in pain. If it's just a filling you will be just fine.

Hah, I can relate. I somehow managed to scrape the insides of both my cheeks with my back molars. So I have raw flesh in the back of my mouth. Not debilitating but it stings a lot.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE, MR. KEVIN. I had my teeth drilled last year(it was a number of years before that when I had a dentist visit, too; About 6 years, I think). Unfortunately for me, I have VERY sensitive nerves. When they were putting the needles in my jaw(after numbing it with some sorta gel, first) I still felt the PAIN. They even got the serious stuff. It was utterly useless! I had to go through the whole procedure feeling pain, all the while trying to hold on to what little bit of sanity I had as they grinded away on one of my teeth in the back of my mouth. Afterwards, I had to go for hours with my mouth completely numb, sounding like I got my tongue cut out.
And the worst thing is........that was only the FIRST one they had to do. I have one more tooth for them to get at. Crap.

but i feel your pain. i got a stomach virus four days before thanksgiving, and by the day before, it was just starting to go away, but i was "food policed" by over-caring family the entire time... they barely let me eat anything originally, until my brother backed me up.

Got my first cavity this year... they SUCK I swear the filling hurts worse than the cavity did! My cavity was only sensitive to sweet food... but this damn filling is sensitive to hot and cold MASSIVELY!

Why is it that the people who take super good care of their teeth always seem to end up with the tooth problems while people like me, who skate by with brushing once a day, end up having such healthy teeth? Honestly, it baffles the hell out of me.
