Read the rest of "I'm My Own Mascot!" here: www.kevinbolk.com/comic/mascot…Three days before thanksgiving I started having massive tooth and jaw pain. Went to the doctor and found out it was due to a massive cavity in one of my back molars. The soonest they can get me in for a dentist visit is after the Thanksgiving holiday, so I got to enjoy my family's amazing food through a haze of painkillers and antibiotics. Still, it was pretty darn good.. This will be my first dental appointment in nearly 20 years, so I'm a little freaked out. I'm borderline crazy about brushing, flossing, and taking care of my teeth specifically because I never wanted to go to a dentist. It's one of those fears of mine. X_x

the last I went there to do a normal check, I end up doing an surgery! they used a drill a d everything and I end up with surgery lines in my mouth for a few days! but beside that it was fain! also come on! what the worst thing could happen! ^_^

Oh oh god I had a toothache back there, too. I had to get the whole thing yanked out so I'm missing a tooth. It'd been causing me off and on pain for months and I couldn't go for a long time x_x

I feel your pain. My wisdom teeth started to come in a few weeks ago so I've had to deal with splitting gums. Not fun.

yeah, i'm afraid of the dentist too. I've sort of gotten over some of the fear of them. otherwise, it's needles are what do me in on fear. i don't mind too much if they use a butterfly needle in my right arm over the elbow(where they usually draw blood from), but anywhere else, i will become so severely afraid, i vomit. did it once on a doctor's pant leg when they were gonna stick a needle in my foot for nerve testing.

Aw don't worry, about a year ago I went to my first dentist appointment in 15 years, and prior to that I didn't have very good dental habits :,D
I had to get a deep-cleaning, (which is kinda painful, but mostly just uncomfortable XD) all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled, 2 root canals, and of course fillings : D But all in all, it wasn't so bad. Now I can actually eat without getting food stuck in an annoying spot!

As someone who's absolutely terrified every dental visit, I feel your pain & fear. Bummer it had to happen on Thanksgiving, but here's hoping they'll fix it up right. Meantime take plenty of Advil!

I feel for ya, I have a huge toothache in my front left canine. Unfortunately, because I am so terrified of the dentist, I had to sit through Thanksgiving and pretend I was just peachy. Still ate tons though

Oh man, at least you still got to enjoy Thanksgiving through your dental pain. I remember one year I had my wisdom teeth removed two days before Thanksgiving. It hurt A LOT, but dammit I ate and ENJOYED that turkey.

Oh, poor you! I'm absolutely -PETRIFIED- of the dentist (and that's putting it lightly) to the point where I'm shaking and in tears during just a cleaning. I'm praying I don't get my wisdom teeth... because if so, they'll have to come out. All of them. And for that... they're going to have to knock me right out DX
