Went to the doctor and found out it was due to a massive cavity in one of my back molars. The soonest they can get me in for a dentist visit is after the Thanksgiving holiday, so I got to enjoy my family's amazing food through a haze of painkillers and antibiotics. Still, it was pretty darn good.. This will be my first dental appointment in nearly 20 years, so I'm a little freaked out. I'm borderline crazy about brushing, flossing, and taking care of my teeth specifically because I never wanted to go to a dentist. It's one of those fears of mine. X_x

I had a few years where for some reason my teeth would start acting up right before a holiday so that there was no way it could be taken care of till afterwards. I had a filling fall out before Thanksgiving, I ended up needing my first root canal right before Christmas, and there was something that happened right before the fourth of July, all within a three year period.
So to make a short story long, I feel your pain.

Yeah last week I got my wisdom teeth pulled just in time. It doesn't hurt as much as it is irritating now that every time I eat it tears the newly healed tissue. Not as fun as the last few Turkey Days.

Damn, that sucks. I'd hate to have to go through Christmas Day feeling pain with every bite.

Yeah, tooth problems suck. I spent all summer a few years ago in a drug-induced haze from extremely impacted wisdom teeth and horrible dentists. Hope you get better soon

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but I know definitely what I hate about the Christmas Eve... so much delicious food (cooked by my grandma), cakes and all... I can't eat much. I have to eat just a little bit of everything because I get stuffed pretty easily.....ONLY ON CHRISTMAS EVE. =____= Normally I can eat damn lots and feel nothing. On Christmas Eve... My stomach shrinks. Bastard.

Bad things always happen around Thanksgiving. On one Thanksgiving day my oven died!

My bf just had all of his wisdom teeth taken out a few weeks ago due to an infection that was growing under one of them.
He was in a lot of pain, I felt really bad for him.
Make sure your other half is there right next to you once you get out of the dentist, there's nothing better than being comforted by your loved one.

Ps. I know very little about American culture. Iβm not going to ask about thanksgiving, I know the story about how complete strangers saved your first settlers from death only to be paid back with their own blood later. But is it normal for you not to have regular checkups?
