I don't know... I had a discussion with a guy who was all fired up in annoyance over people being unreasonable, and just by not responding sarcastically or angrily, and treating him like an intelligent person (at least as much as myself), he calmed down and we were able to reach some sort of conclusion.

If you notice in any argument when you try to use reason the other person won't listen. We're not wired to. Aside from that though, I like this. It's cute.

I take comfort in not being misinformed. Unfortunately, I know enough to be disgusted by both political parties, the incumbent and the Republican hopeful.

Indeed. I try to explain that to my mother but the moment I start going into detail about how flawed her opinions are, she insists I'm supporting the other guy or listening to too much propaganda. Funny, I don't own a tv and don't have my face glued to paid off news channels, so she's one to talk. I fact check extensively when I hear something because I have the internet at my fingertips and she has only what the tv feeds her. I don't dislike the candidates based on heresy, but on things that have actually come out of their mouths and signed by their own hands.

Exactly. The US needs a viable, moderate and reasonable third option. Oh, and let's not forget honest. That would be a nice change.

Exactly! Any time you refuse to support something everybody automatically assumes you're the stereotypical supporter of the opposite party like some paranoid minion with doubts that they need to soothe by blind name-calling and lame puns.

Generally I bring up Mitt's web page and point out all the points that I just won't vote for. I've got so many gay friends that I could never wish them denial of marriage. That and stem cell research is necessary and safe. But I won't get too far into it
