reminds me of my mum's suggestion that we strap our kayaks sideways on the back of our camper. I can see the poor pedestrians just flying left and right, and oncoming traffic receiving kayak gouges, and don't even get me started of the poor cyclists.

Don't worry, it never got past the suggestion stage. Dad and I looked at her, there was much raising of eyebrows and skeptical silence, as we waited for her to figure out what was wrong with her plan. We wound up having to explain the flaws in her brilliant logic. Then we took down the already half strapped on kayaks, and re-arranged things.
