Description
Wanted to design my own signs for the Stephen Colbert "March to Keep Fear Alive" on Oct 30. Yes, I will proudly be in attendance (and maybe even in costume).I've made the full-size 19 x 24 inch file available for download if you plan to attend the rally and would like a sign of your own, or just want to put him up on your wall. Just click "Download image" on the right there.
For the corresponding Jon Stewart "Sanity" sign: Click here

I LOVE HIM AND JOHN SOOO MUCH!!!!
Hehe, I love your art of them!
You know they put their rallies together and now it is, "The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear"? It's true!
You should do a sign for it!

I am currently in progress of picking up Stephen's 5-necked guitar and use it to summon Joe Lieberman back from the hell.
*gets poked*
Huh?!
...Wait, what do you mean he isn't?
Uhhh... never mind.
j/k
I am a little off on my politics so forgive me if I seem rude.
Stewart's my news, Stephen's my entertainment, and I hope they never change.

I heard about this; sounds like a bad attempt to replicate the overwhelming success of the Tea Party movement... it won't work.
But a little bit of friendly advice, prepare to compensate beforehand for the lack of bathrooms.

I don't think it's so much an attempt to replicate the Tea Party movement as it is to poke fun at that movement.

Hm, perhaps, but the material I've seen of Colbert and Leibowitz (Stewart's real (last) name) strikes me as mockery delivered under the guise of parody against that which they apparently hold in contempt.

Da--Master In reply to DoctorOno [2010-10-22 18:16:36 +0000 UTC]
Indeed. Generally I would never give either to the time of day, but having to put up with my liberal English teacher who touted the two as lingual geniuses and frequently showed excerpts from their programs only worked to further distanced themselves from my acceptance.
By the way; if you're reading this Ms. Harde, it's really easy for anyone to masquerade cunning wit and intelligence when they have a team of two-dozen writers coming up with all their material.

I remember the writers' strike. They didn't have any original material to work with!

Da--Master In reply to DoctorOno [2010-11-09 18:43:39 +0000 UTC]
I never watch The Daily Show or the Colbert Report, writer's strike or not. How pained were they for material when they had to *gasp!* come up with it by themselves?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
DoctorOno In reply to Da--Master [2010-11-10 03:34:23 +0000 UTC]
Pretty badly -- they could only come up with enough material for just one show, and had to recycle old material.
I don't watch either of those shows but I try to keep up with current events as best I can.

Ok, gotta stop ya' for a second. Why bring up Stewart's last name like that? Because it came off as kind of antisemitic and I just wanted to make sure that was not what you intended.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Da--Master In reply to kevinbolk [2010-10-21 21:09:17 +0000 UTC]
Oh no, it wasn't intended like that at all. Actually I bring it up because constitutional lawyer political commentator, Mark Levin (who is also, and as has of his own will brought up many times on his radio talk show that he himself is also a devout Jew) brings up Stewart to call him out for his left-wing extremism or blatant lack of knowledge on the United States Constitution, he calls him by his actually last name as opposed to his stage name. I'm not sure why, but perhaps Levin takes offense to Stewart's change of name because he feels he's trying to distance himself from his heritage. Then again, in spite of Levin's unwavering patriotism and brilliance (Levin worked in the Regan administration and wrote the New York Times best-seller, Liberty & Tyranny), he does have a very short temper, so quoting him probably carries traces of his animosity.
But antisemitism is not my intention at all; I prefer to hold people in contempt upon a basis of their morals and subsitive issues.

He's got to tag along with Jon Stewart. Meh. As long as Colbert's still there, awesomesauce will ensue.

The most disgusting Perverts on Earth are the one's who sneaky try to manipulate others by creating Fear within them, while hoping the others don't realise it.
And the Worst: Nearly everyone fell's for it.

Yeah, there's an awful lot of easily manipulated people here, many of whom get most of their information from Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, etc., etc. Makes me fear for the future of America (and the rest of the world, for that matter).

SchattenLotus In reply to DoctorOno [2010-10-21 16:21:19 +0000 UTC]
The best thing against Fear is just to be "erring"
Don't "pull with" the Mainstream. Don't let so called "Reports of State Security" or other Nonsense affect you,
don't let other Humans get represented as Scapegoat's,
the worst Problem/"Evil" in our Society is the Greed.
The Greed for Money, the Greed for Power/Influence, the Greed of the corrupt Ones, who play with the Money of the Folk like they want,
such People no Matter which Agency they have right now, are everything but NOT Servants or Members of our Society.
And the most dumb thing a clever Person can do, is to become a Soldier and walk into a War for them. (Dying included).
The Western World in the last Ten Years had changed pretty bad back into a "Delinquent/Culprit-Society/Folk", which has AGAIN assaulted/robbed the East
And "FEAR" (of a dumb Majority in several Populations(?) ) has played a big Role why that was possible

When you have greedy corporations and greedy people, they will do their level best to install puppets who will do their bidding. If they succeed, they do their best to loot the treasury. They trick those who are easily misled into blindly supporting them through the propagation of blatant lies. Those they cannot trick end up being marginalized or discredited in some fashion or other. If many rise up in opposition, they will resort to using their paid enforcers (police, military, etc.) to quell any unrest.
A bleak future awaits us if we choose not to take action to avert the coming catastrophe.

They won't, until it affects them directly; and even then, they might not figure it out until it's too late.
A sad shame, really.
