On a guess, mythic species with a preference towards riddles and other various mental stimuli. Get one too many people who don't know much understand a riddle or question, present it poorly or as if they their incorrect answer is right and that they're suppose to be rewarded for it, you'd likely seek self-harm too.

Then again since Sphinxes generally kill people who fail to answer their riddles, I would think that things would rather sort themselves out. A cute and adorable Spinx would have the very idiot who pained it to take it's frustrations out on.

pretty much humon describes that quit detailed under this artwork of her's:
humon.deviantart.com/art/Every…
The sphinx as a building or work of art if you want is know from egypt but her connection with riddles comes from greek mythology where Oedipus has and encounter with her and the sphinx asks him the what-creature-goes-on-how-many-legs-riddle. that's why i asked because the connection between riddles and sphinxes is something that i only know from greek mythology.

Let's set aside the tasteless suicide jokes and actually think about this.

Noun[edit ]

genocideΒ (countable Β andΒ uncountable ,Β pluralΒ genocides )

  • The systematicΒ killing Β of substantial numbers of people on the basis of theirΒ ethnicity ,Β religion ,Β political Β beliefs,Β social status , or other particularities.Β
  • πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 3

rarkorn In reply to PunchieTheNeko [2014-06-08 16:55:12 +0000 UTC]

It still kind of makes sense to call it a genocide, though, since it's the actions of people on the internet that are killing other beings. Genocide doesn't necessarily have to be the killing of someone or something because of the group they belong to, it's just what you call it when there are mass killings within one specific group. In this case, it's ignorance that kills sphinxes.

    πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PunchieTheNeko In reply to rarkorn [2014-06-08 17:08:20 +0000 UTC]

I reject that because when someone decided to kill themselves of their own free will, that is suicide.

    πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

rarkorn In reply to PunchieTheNeko [2014-06-08 17:34:55 +0000 UTC]

Legally speaking, encouraging suicide counts as a form of murder in some areas of the world. Even if it's not specifically counted as murder, it's still a crime. Either way, in this specific kind of situation, it's the actions of others that cause the death in the end.

PunchieTheNeko In reply to rarkorn [2014-06-08 20:49:20 +0000 UTC]

Why is everyone speaking as if this is something to take seriously?

rarkorn In reply to PunchieTheNeko [2014-06-08 21:03:51 +0000 UTC]

Because you asked people to "set aside the tasteless jokes and think about it" earlier. You've got only yourself to blame.

    πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PunchieTheNeko In reply to rarkorn [2014-06-08 21:42:29 +0000 UTC]

Suicides about fictional creatures = Doesn't need to be taken seriously
    Suicide jokes = Take seriously

    That should do it.

    πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

rarkorn In reply to PunchieTheNeko [2014-06-08 22:05:26 +0000 UTC]

That doesn't even make sense. The comment you replied to when you said to put aside the tasteless jokes was about fictional character suicide. You decided to turn it into a serious conversation by debating the meaning of the word "genocide" and then complained about everybody taking it so seriously, and now you're sitting here trying to dictate what should or shouldn't be taken seriously when neither of those things even have anything to do with what we were talking about? Pay attention to the conversation, please.
