Anywho, I'm glad I did it. I don't think I'm gonna keep it like this since I don't have the patience to maintain it. However, it's fun at the moment and it made me feel a lot better about life, so Mission Accomplished!

As a person who occasionally suffers with body image issues, I wanna say that this was really inspirational to me. I think the same philosophy you have about age can be applied to most negatively viewed personality/body traits that people don't really have the power to change about themselves. This really made me feel a bit better about myself, and I want to thank you for that.

I have a very significant birthday coming up soon in my life, and I'm reading this again and I think you have it exactly right. Yeah, I'm getting older. So what? Happens to everyone. I'm still me, and I still know how I like having fun and what's interesting. It's just time to carry those things into the next step. Something tells me that in the future, I'm effectively going to be a forty-year-old-teenager. Just 'cause you get older doesn't mean you have to get worse.
Which is basically a convoluted way of saying: Thanks Kevin, you have it exactly right there. Thank you making this point for everyone and putting it out there. We need more of that.

Well first of all, I didn't said he was unhappy or unhealthy, I only said he would be happier and healthier. Having a healthy weight and the general healthier lifestyle needed to maintain it makes any normal person happier. Not that that's out of the way, he has made several references to being depressed before, in journals and comics. As far as being unhealthy, that's just plain objective reasoning. He's obese, and it has gotten worse with the years.

No worries, I also didn't know until he uploaded a photo of himself like a year ago. It's nosy and it's not like my input is going to change anything, but sometimes change happens when little drops start to fill up the cup of "damn I'm way too fat and I'm gonna die young, have a ton of medical problems before that and my knees will hurt and fuck this I have to change" water. At least that's the way it worked for me.

we all get old and we can't stop it, that's what it means to be alive... so it's okay Bolky-dude, and it's nice you tackled your fears head-on, not a lot of us have the guts to do so... my fear would be losing both of my parents... i just hope i manage to have kids of my own to show them how great the education they gave me is, and the fact that i could take care of them just as well as they took care of me, i guess i still have them both with me, one in my house and one in my heart.

That whole explanation actually makes a lot of sense to me on a personal level too. My friends are forever telling me I'm naΓ―ve or act like a child and need to grow up, but I think I too try to hold onto my childhood in my own silly way to try and preserve that feeling of youth. I'm scared sh*tless of growing up and becoming 'old' but you make an exceptionally good point when you say people should be proud of aging.. I guess when I'm through being so scared I'll hopefully be able to embrace it like you...although; I'll be keeping my hair...

This is something I absolutely HATE about the media landscape of our generation. Everyone is completely obsessed with their childhoods, they refuse to accept that they arent kids anymore, talk crap about any entertainment that isnt atleast 25 years old, and its actually sort of pathetic that people wont let go of a period of their lives that is actually very short compared to the rest of their lifespan. You're a kid for what, 10 years? Not counting infancy and the early stages of teenagehood. Are we doing to spend the other 65+ years of our lives obsessing over that?
On a different note, I've been thinking of shaving my head too, but I have an ugly birthmark on my scalp I'm embarassed about.
