Anywho, I'm glad I did it. I don't think I'm gonna keep it like this since I don't have the patience to maintain it. However, it's fun at the moment and it made me feel a lot better about life, so Mission Accomplished!

Awesome idea. You should shave it into a mohawk next. Being a kid of the same generation, my parents always used the 'When you're older' speech when I asked about it. Funny thing was, once I got old enough, I was suddenly too old! There's merit in showing your age, but there's just as much in saying 'F**k it, I'm old enough to make my own decisions.'

This comic actually puts into words some of the same feelings I have had about getting my own life together. I've spent most of my adult life so far feeling like I'll never make a mark on life, that I'll never amount to anything, because I'm so far behind the rest of the people I grew up with. I'm still in that stage where I'm afraid to let go of my childhood, holding onto the small joys and comforting familiarities of that time of my life and truly facing adulthood. I know that I'm holding myself back and I know it's out of fear of the unknown, of being an adult, of that next big stage of life. To put it in a similar video game analogy as you, I'm stuck in that stage where I know there's a boss battle coming up and I'm still leveling up and overcompensating for what shouldn't be a difficult boss battle.Β
This comic is inspiring in and of itself. The final panels, especially. It feels like that final speech before the battle, telling us that we're ready. It's time to stop leveling up and take out the boss that we now could easily overpower if we just move forward. "Let's go slay some dragons" indeed. Thank you for the inspiration. I think many of us needed this.
