Description Part of experimental series that I was lucky enough to miss my train and get to experience.

model:
"the foot who poofed the best"
lights: without his help all this series would not be.

Thank you so much for easing me through the process and popping my model shooting cherry. *grins* It was an awesome experience to finally shoot my first model and to have such wonderful people there to help me through and add their experience really was truly awe inspiring.

Special note must go to Sally for her amazing patience with my fumbling and the LOOOOONG shooting time (16 hours straight! God this girl has stamina!)

And Kimothy for her guidance and suggestions and always helpful criticism. (And reminding me to take the lens cap off!) ... and your poor lounge.

It was an honor to work with you both and I hope to do so again very soon!

This is easily my favorite of this series! Again, just a chance shot... but it came up beautifully (if I do say so myself *grins*)

Totally not what I was going for, but when I saw it I knew I had to get it. It was just such a good angle.

It funny, because it was not the shot I was going for... but when I saw it through the viewer... I knew I had to get it.

Mhmh. That happens too often, at least with me. I've worked with models now and then, and sometimes the best shots that come out of a session are those that happened between two poses, or just some random face

Kevinreader In reply to Mithgariel [2008-11-14 15:24:40 +0000 UTC]

I'm getting that feeling that working with models can be a very spontaneous thing... I mean, get the concept shots out of the way by all means or focus on getting the shots that you need... but dont be afraid to have a play around and see what you come up with.

And serious thanks for the devwatch!

Mithgariel In reply to Kevinreader [2008-11-14 16:25:12 +0000 UTC]

VERY spontaneous, so having a firm plan for the shoot is a must have, because without it (and even with it) things turn into chaos, and unless you want to walk away without shooting anything you had planned... But I love it, and my models are addicted on our sessions.

Next one scheduled for Wednesday, upcoming week. Managed to convince someone very special, so we'll see how it goes.

Wow! Well I hope everything goes well for you on wednesday and I hope to see some amazing pieces from you

I'm thinking it is a fine balance between chaotic and more rigid systems. But I'm just starting out so I'll feel my way through it.

Amazing work! I love the soft focus & the composition. Also love the colours: how it's all very white & then you see that red around the eye & it just draws you in Really great photo!!

And I Sally! She's awesome!!

Isn't she fantastic! *grins* ... and thank you! I'm really glad you liked the photo! I didn't want too much of the red to seep through, but I think I managed to get it just right!

Thank you very much. I was luck enough to get to borrow a fantastic lens for this shoot and my god have I fallen in love with it after shots like this one. *grins*

What lens was it?

I have a lens I really love too, just for its DOF and ability to get reaaal close.
