I really like the color and texture of this shot. She looks like she's on the run, looking for somewhere to hide, maybe. It may even be that she is not alive, but a carving in the wall she is standing in front of, or has just emerged from. Lovely framing, lovely model, lovely dress.

haaaa ! I love it, it makes me think about a lunatic bride who decided to sequestrate all the audience for having approved her loss of freedom ha, but i hate weddings that's maybe why all this esthetic forms inspire me in this direction. but i like a lot this image.... hop favourite !

this is incredible bro!! so hauntingly beautiful!! i love the sheer headpiece and how
it flows from her in both directions as if she's spinning a web!
perhaps in order to capture those who cannot resist the lure of her beauty?

I really love the blur effect in this photo. It contributes to a sense of ghostly topography. She almost is a gatekeeper and since she is dressed in all white, one also thinks of the concept of the threshold and what she seems to be guarding. The part of the veil on the right hand is really really well done because it nearly flows into the landscape. Truly wonderful!

so are you going to let us know how you exposed this shot, and how you edited it? i really owuld love to know.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kevissimo In reply to dandanfotoman [2005-11-10 03:39:29 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the interest in this...It was shot on a Mamiya RZ67 with Tri-X 220 Film and lit with a 2000W strobe in a 3x4 softbox rigged on a boom nearly overhead. Exposure was probably around an f/8 since I was filtering with a 25R glass filter.
The 16x20 print was made traditonallyand then I used the technique I employ called oilgraphing which uses oil color directly on the print...which is the texture you see. Nothing was done on the computer other than keeping the tone consistent after the print was reshot.
