Description
Shot today. A long day....This image had nothing to do with what I was actually shooting them for which will be seen shortly if I didn't screw that up as well.
This was at the end. Usually as ritual I shoot off one (and usually only one) plate of Polaroid 55 just as an ender to a shoot. This unfortunately is all that remains of it since I ended up destroying the neg through an immensely stupid accident. And as you can see, I nearly ended up destroying the polaroid as well...
The first time I ever did that....and the last.
Regardless...this is Scott and Andrea (Known to some as Yogi Scott and Delta)
They love horses
And each other
polaroid 55 print

I like the scratches. It gives it an even more paused feel. Like this is a moment they rarely have and they are taking it in as much as they can. Romantic!

This is a stunning picture and I'd like it even more without all the brush work. Added in Photoshop?

I'd like it more too...but they are scratches on the polaroid. I never add anything in photoshop.

Really? I'd never have guessed. So how come the Polaroid got so scratched?

I was on location with no place to wash the negative, so my plan was to leave it unprocessed till I got home...unfortunately I ended up pulling it through the rollers and it stewed for over an hour before i opened it. The print was so fragile that when I coated it, it took off the dye....the emulsion on the neg melted.

Oh, that's a real pity. Still, it's a wonderful wonderful picture!

This is truly a beautiful photograph, even with (perhaps especially, in my opinion) the tears and imperfections from your accident.
Sorry to hear that you had the photo-mishap, though. It's still gorgeous, and you really have captured the warmth of this couple.

I truly love this image. I have just sat and stared at it trying to think of something to say but, I find myself not wanting to say anything. In fact, I actually want to physically remove it from my monitor and of all the distractions on the screen, and hang it on a blank white wall. Then stare at it some more.

I would say this accident definitely added something to the picture. When I first looked at it, I did think it was an old picture. The message in this, the pose, everything is absolutely wonderful. Kudos to you, my friend. Kudos.

You're welcome. And I'm sure it's gonna be a good film, if the trailers are any indication.

preserve that image. Sometimes great art comes from accidents. I think this is an example. When first looking at this I thought it was an old print. Even though the areas unpigmented are symetrical, it almost looks as if it were hidden under another print, neglected. Happenstance revealed it as a justification to love. Sweet!
