Awesome statue!
Full of sadness and tenderness β the first impression. But. . . at the same time there is something arrogant, cold and forbidding in itβs look. Oh. . . Iβm mislead )
The whole atmosphere reminds me one retro house in Moscow, there were very beautiful figures on the walls.

Great shot. I'm always so tempted by statues to align a real pose by them... check out 'life imitating art' in my gallery. (please!)

Merci!
Can't take credit for the lighting....
It was the last shot of the day too...just when the guard was kicking us all out. It was right near Rossini's tomb along the main walkway....

Its beautiful...
you captured the essence of the statues expression. I love that you were able to get the cobwebs so clearly.. gives it that old and downtrodden feeling, as if this young woman in the statue was actually there... just paralyzed from her grief... locked in time...
great shot.

reminds me of simon marsden's work. i love pere lachaise. i've been there in 2001 and damn i wasn't interested in photography back then means i didn't have a cam with me. but i'll go back there. i fell for it's atmosphere (how couldn't you).

the statue is as timeless and inconsolable as the feeling. .. composition and tones are stunning, like normal.
