you know, in my mind, I can think of some weird cyberpunk story in which an oppressive technocratic government uses said "skinners" to terrorize the populace into obedience.
just an educated guess and perhaps a little bit of inspiration for fleshing out your world of rather interesting mecha. seriously, i could spend ages wandering through and admiring your designs.
deep down, just like you, I wish mechs were real. I really do, maybe perhaps in a few decades. *sigh* a man can only hope.
