Description
At a distance, it seemed rather trite, almost silly in the surrounding hellscape. Certainly, it wasn't one of the hellish machinations one would expect to find here. Closer inspection was prone to changing one's opinion, however. The creatures that adorned this carousel thrashed and writhed, bellowed and howled, obviously quite alive. Their eyes shone with wild hatred, their twisted bodies struggling to escape the poles that impaled them, and their mouths dripped with their own blood. Surely, any mortal seated upon this ride--or even daring to stand too close--would be devoured by the angry beasts.
So, like, fullview, yo. There's an ASSLOAD OF DETAIL in this thing. >.< Worked on it forever, and I'm rather glad that I didn't make it any bigger. I'm also rather proud of the concept and the fact that I finished it and didn't leave out anything that I had originally planned to put in it. So, I give you: The Infernal Carousel.
PS - I should've put a sheep on it.

This is a very good piece of artwork, I love the distortion in it and the animals unbridled fury, as though daring anyone brave enough to ride one of them. Truly a masterpiece in my eyes and the detail is amazing!!! Truly a great piece of work right here.

Thanks! Yes, it's my own writing, but there's nothing extra; it's just some random thoughts that occurred to me and I then illustrated.

I like the way you did the carousel itself, along with how unique the creatures on it are. I could swear there was some book I read some time ago that had something to do with a carousel that had animals like that. Awesome job on the details and colors. Insta-fav.

this is just the most insanely brilliant piece! I wish you did more like this.. the carnival element, the distorted characters, the colours... it's all just awesome! So dark and comical at the same time.
Please, oh god please do more like this.

Oh, and even fv'ed it's so small, I can barely see the detail Or maybe that's just cause i'm half blind...

Murr... You may have a higher monitor resolution than I do. The image itself isn't all that hi-res compared to what I usually do. I'm hesitant to post it bigger, though, just because people like to hijack things. Nyar.

I guess. I am sorta blind, anyway, and afraid to lean too close to the screen. Stupid S1m0n3...

Reminds me of a picture that I drew at age 7 or so, and got yelled at by my parents about. Yes...because punishing artistic expression is the best way to trunciate deviant thoughts. -_-

Arrrh, yes. Yelling at people makes them less f'ed up in the head. *rolls eyes* Fortunately, my mom doesn't do that to me.
My dad used to flip out, but I think he's given up, lol

In response to Kuraku-chan's comment: NOTHING is too cute to impale. Being a self-proclaimed expert on grotesque cuteness, I would know. *as she gazes fondly at her collection of impaled animals* This picture, if anything, is the quintessence of grotesque cuteness.
^_^ It just radiates of warm fuzzy harmony.
...Or am I the only person who percieves it that way?

I think the deer makes up for the sheep, so it's all good.

Sheeps would be nice, but they're too cute to impale.
I really like the concept though and nice colouring as usual.

That's pretty awesome, though I feel sorry for the poor creatures impaled on that thing. Wonder what they did to deserve such a horrible punishment.

very cool picture, I really like the concept.
things I would suggest would be to make it so the composition isn't centered, and to try and add a stronger focal point.
