Description
This image was inspired by the words of Psalm 119:103 which says "How sweet are Your words to my taste!". In the same way food gives and sustains our physical life, the Word of God gives and sustains our spiritual life. Of course, my image might have taken the verse a little too literal!To make this picture, I first went to the local thrift store and purchased and old book for 25 cents! Then I used a power saw and sliced the book into three sections, and then a half cut on the biggest section. Then I placed the book on a plate and had my wife do the modeling. The only other edits were adding the "Holy Bible" text, enhancing some colors, and sharpening. It was a fun project! Sometimes I just use graphics to make a book, but this project it was much easier just to use a real one!

I wonder how I guessed it was a Bible from the start, despite my poor visus.
But I think the message would have worked with any book. Even the simple 'food for brain' or something similar suits this picture.

Yes I think this picture would have a deep meaning with any book. Most of my artwork is inspired by the Bible though, so I wanted to go in that direction. Thanks for commenting!

I was more thinking of the people who claim their words to be in the name of God so that people follow them blindly. Numerous people in control have taken advantage of people's beliefs like that throughout history, and it is just one of the most disgusting things a person can do.
Like how in ancient Egypt, the Pharaoh convinced the common folk that he was a descendant of Ra, and that if they didn't work for and serve him, he would use his connections to the Gods to ensure that they'd get a poor harvest, so that they wouldn't be capable of paying off their taxes or even feed themselves.
That was simply what came to mind at first - I do also see the positive implications in the picture. That the bible (which could serve as a symbol for faith in general), like sustenance, is a necessity for the survival and/or well being of a person.
Either way; now I would really love to see a bible themed cake.
