Description

There is a famous Vietnamese poem named “Lượm”, which is told from the perspective of an optimistic kid that delivers mail during the Anti-French Resistance War in Vietnam. The kid travels a very long distance to deliver, and in doing so, he always enjoys the beauty of the nature around him despite the ongoing war that sometimes endangers him.
This story inspired me to come up with an idea of an open-world game that follows the journey of the kid, with each part of the world being illustrated according to the description in the poem. Therefore, the following artwork illustrates a part of that world set in the terrace fields in Ha Giang, which although isn’t where the kid actually traveled in the poem, it is still covered with the bright paddy fields that is often described in the poem.
