Description
So I can't decide between two different tail designs for Dodger.I wanted to ask you guys which you think would make more sense, and is in a way, more psychically possible.
I do realise that canines are not built for underwater, but I'm tryin' my best here to keep the main features of him as dogish as possible yet make it believable he is suited to an underwater environment.
So which design do you guys thing?
1. He would swim like a shark with his tail swishing horizontally side to side,.
2. He would swim like a dolphin, his tailing swishing vertically up and down.
Try and picture it in your head, which can you see looking more natural and believable? (for a fantasy world of-course)
Thanks guys
Lol ur probs sick of seeing dodger atm.
Notable reasons why (Opinions and suggestions in comments i'll consider)
1. Shark
- Dog tails wag side to side.
2. Dolphin
- Canine spine flows more naturally.
- Canine is a mammal, should swim like a mammal.

just cause of the way canines are built I think that if he was the kind of character to lunge the dolphin would make more sense. also it make alittle sense when you think of how canines swim and jump and leap.

Dolphin makes more sense, because of how dogs run. Swimming and running kind of work the same I guess. If he has a much thicker and more muscular tail, then I would say shark because most of the swimming would be done by his tail, but since his tail is thinner, I'd say dolphin style so he has to swim with his whole body.

Two definitely. It'd look more natural. Plus in order to move the sharks tail from side to side, it'd probably need a lot more muscle power. So for the first one to work, the tail would have to be a lot thicker.

Swim like a dolphin, cause I think it looks cooler and it would be more natural :3

well i think that the dolphin like way of swim is bettar than the sharks one... after all dolphin and canines are bot mammals so they have the same spinal column, mammals can move very little laterally, so unless Dodger has a different skeleton but the same appearance of a canine i vote 2

I think dolphin would suit a canine form better. Picturing the swishing while they swim gives a really majestic/wavy movement as they swim
with a shark, he keeps some ferocitity, but he won't look very canine at all when he swims... Like some weird spasm-ish movement.... reminds me of an eel. Picture dodger swimming like an eel.

I have to say, swimming like a shark would suit Dodger more, it seems more like him, A killer, a hider, a stalker XD

Thats one of the many reasons that the concept of a sharklike dodger appealed to me.

Number two.
Because it seems to fit his anatomy better, not to mention that if he were to swim, I hardly see him swimming like a shark, it'd be a bit unbalanced in my opinion.
Like others said, canines are mammals so a dolphin would fit best. And that way he could be a bit swifter, not that shark aren't, but not all sharks jump out of the water. And that dolphin tail could be "useful" when he wants to "walk on the water" too.

I say like a dolphin because that's the way all mammals swim. Only fish do the side-to-side shark thing.

Dolphin. It's a mammal so it should swim like a mammal

You might want to give him webbed toes too. Maybe shorter hair so there's less drag and a more streamline body.

Considering how a canine's spine moves... I'd say 2. Side to side would likely hurt after a while.

I think 2 looks best, it just seems to fit better with his overall design, along with how he'd swim.
