nice map, I've seen other other fictious height textures of Io before, each one highlighting another feature of its topography

This is a map of BjΓΆrn JΓ³nsson, it highlights the mountains of Io: bjj.mmedia.is/data/io/io_dem.hβ¦
And here a NormalMap by John van Vliet highlighting the volcanoes, I also found a bump version somewhere in the internet: www.celestiamotherlode.net/catβ¦

The first just like someone took lasso tool and make some bright spots on the original map. The second looks reallyΒ well.

I agree. You look like you know what you're doing more than those other two.

I don't think I know more. The first map probably more precisely than mine.

The first map is featuring the mountains, the second the volcanoes, your map different tektonic features. I mixed the two to create something I like, then I discovered this one

Please can you show me a bump version of John van Vliet's map if you have. The screenshot looks pretty good, but normal map doesn't give me any information about this.

Hm this is gonna be a problem. I found it MUCH later independently as part of a collection of textures in google pictures on an empty site... I might send you a note or something.
