Whoot! Been a while since I've been insane enough to do a full-paged image only in coloured pencils!'Magic Knight Rayearth' fanart. I haven't really done much based on the two serise, and it's one of my top fave CLAMP works. (I prefer the 1st over the 2nd).
I know that, when the girls sort of dissolve into their magical element in lil' parts of the manga, their skin still stays a normal colour, but I just wanted to try something a little different (besides - there's more colour this way!)
My scanner killed the detail *beats at it with a rubber bat* (yes! Rubber...as much as I hate the killing, I could ney live without my scanner!)So, Hikaru is the fire, Umi is the water, and Fuu is the Air (yes, I am aware that she looks a little strange with the green, but that's what CLAMP were using for the symbolic colour, so I just stuck with it (besides, it works well with the colours of the other two girls).
Hikaru's still my fave!

Hmm... This is the first time I've taken the time to look at this one... I really like it, which is a surprise cause I didn't really like it the first time I saw it. But now that I've taken a closer look I can see the details and the concept... And I think it's lovely!

Magic Knight Rayearth is one of my favorite CLAMP works as well! Second only to Card Captor Sakura, which we Americans managed to butcher so unfairly. v_v

I like the idea, but Fuu looks a little awkward, and Umi's facial expression is odd. Well drawn, great colors, and finally I found another Rayearth fan!

Huzzah!! The colored pencils tempt you again >3 Can't say I've watched the series, but I did read a chapter once in an uber old issue of Tokyo Pop, back when I first got into anime @3@ Clamps's works are so stunning! I love your take on them!
The part that amazes me the most is Hikaru's hair. It actually looks like fire! The shading, blending, and color choices are awesome!! They all stand out from the background beautifully and you've kept the colors so rich n vibrant (something that makes me go all giggly about your work x3 ). The elements flow all magic-like, and it was a good choice to give Fuu feathers to symbolize air :3 Umi's stance, though, looks kinda stiff compared the dynamic poses Hikaru and Fuu have. It's no biggie, and I know you sure as hell ain't changin it xD *slaps self back in corner* Beeeeeey00000000tiful!

when i saw "3 kinds of magic" in my DAwatch, the first thing i thought of was, "oh, i wonder if it's MKR," because i'm kind of one-track that way. MKR is one of my top fav series of all time (love to teh fuu

Oh, it's usually easy to tell what's gonna me MKR fanart by the titles, for sure. 
As for the skin-tones for Fuu. Well, I was using the colours that I had on hand, but like I said, I was basing it off of the colours CLAMP used for wind. If you've seen the colours they've used around Fuu for her wind element, it actually IS a ghostly green...pretty much white, with tones and shades that are sort of a very light green. Thus, why I used it on her like that, instead of a brighter, solid green.

I just started to re-read this series so this is cool. I really like your hikaru. She was always my favorite anyways. Then Umi and lastly Fuu. Well, really I can't stand Fuu, but I'm not gonna get into that. Awesome picture!

Never watched that anime show, but you sure manage to catch my interesse girl! I love the different colors and how they contrast each other.
Hikaru: My fav too! I love her color, red! Her expression, it looks like she is into something or just smirking. Tehe. Her hair looks so soft, and I love the higlights and the shading, especially on her shoulder for some reason.
Umi: wow she looks so nice and sweet. Typical anime girl with long hair, friendly eyes and a cheerful smile. Gorgeous anatomy work and hair detail.
Fuu: (Such a cute name!!^^) I adore her wings for crying out loud! I love how they blend from green to white and yellow. I like how u made her face in profile as well.
Overall... I LOFF!!!!

I still need to find a CLAMP manga over here X.x but this is so damn impressive not to excuse upon! Their expressions and colors have done well to fit over the main three elements as such, and a lot of detail has been put onto their expressions and the general skin toning. I can agree with you on that you did absolutely well on Hikaru
