Description
' character from our RP. We both traded our characters with each other and redesigned the characters for said RP. I loved what she did with my character, and had such a fun time re-designing Kei.The tail is still a bit too short (like in the inks) but I didn't have time to go back and do it again, so that's an unfortunate flaw that's staying. Hands need some work too.
I had so much fun with this one.

Very very beautiful. I love the mermaid design. And the colours are absolutely brilliant! Especially her hair and her tail. Lionfish colours are what I always colour my mermaids. xD (You know, like the rich, creamy, yet also bold reds, browns oranges, and slight yellows.)

I love how you did the scales, they're absolutely beautiful! And this was actually really inspiring to draw my friend's and my semi-aquatic alien species xD
Do you mind if when I do, I attempt to draw the scales in the same style? I like asking before I base stylistic changes off of a picture.
Also, I didn't notice the tail until you pointed it out in the comments. The length of the flowy end fin part made the length of the actual tail seem complete, so I wouldn't worry a ton about that in the long run.
The picture is beautiful all in all!
If I had one critique it would be on the hair, which I think seemed a little too flat behind her head for the depth of the coloring. Maybe if you moved a few strands to the foreground above her shoulder and back it would have added a little more depth.

This is absolutely beautiful kai! I love the choice of Red and White (obv.) and the way the scales continue all the way up the back and onto her shoulders looks absolutely delicious o__O
