Description
PLEASE NOTE: This piece still requires a few touch-ups and because of that, I didnd't really work that hard on getting a better scan (it's too light). Once I'm done with the touch-ups, I'll re-scan a better version. :3This is a 99% complete piece, now. Some paint touch-ups still need to be done (like the sleeve of her left arm not blending right on the piant job). But other than that and a few other details, most of it is done.
This is what (I hope) will end up being the cover of Issue #3 of Solo Flame, if it'll work out right. First time a character other than Zuri gets some cover-space. Rah! Yay for the water girl.

I like the colouring, tone, shading, and the detail. Though, it also looks a tad plain. I like it, I do, but there's something about this one that's different from the rest, perhaps there's no glow?

No glow?
Sorry...I don't quite understand what you mean by that.

Ah, it's quite understandable, some people don't either.
what I mean by no glow is that the highlights on her hair and other aspects don't shine that brightly. Like... The highlights are very dim..
Hrm... I'm sorry I can't explain it better. T_T

That probably comes from the scan, then. Which isn't to the best quality (that and the picture still has touch-ups left to go).

That hair is simply mind blowing. That background also has very nice details.

I love that hair. I really do.
You manage to make everything look shiny, even in paint. I can't paint for my life >.<

Urph....already said in the Media description what paper I used.
It's 'Kaskad' textured card. I used to buy the stuff from Warehouse Stationary (about $6 for 10 sheets), but they seemed to have a new brand out and such...which frankly, I don't think is so good *clings to her Kaskad* so I am using this stuff sparingly, while it still lasts! X3

sorry about that. I only just got me some copics, so I'd gotten into a habit of skipping over the technical bits. Bad me.
I'm so very glad you live in NZ, at least I can go to a warehouse stationary without leaving the country. Honestly, there's only so many times I can hear something came from wal-mart before I scream.

XD I fully understand the American's 'obsession' with Wal-Mart. I asked to go into one when I was over there a couple of years ago...as to quote an American tutor of mine: 'It's the Warehouse...on STEROIDS!'
But yes, there is actually ALOT of good art supplies around NZ - ya just gotta know where to look. My two top-rated places are Warehouse Stationary (even more so - their Mega stores!) and Gordin Harris (my art paradise!....they're just very expensive. X3 So huzzah for my student discount!)
