A Light Jak pic I started sketching in the early hours of this morning (after I finished the Ratchet commission) but never inked or coloured until today.Truthfully, I was going to do it in markers, and those twiny twig-boarder things were going to have all these colours in them like a church's stained-glass window, but for one - The simple Dark was working better, since Jak's blue/light glow is already very dominating...and, it wouldn't have looked as good with the coloured pencil.
Yup. This pic is 100% colour pencil 'I'm-killing-the-paper-like-this' love.
I just wanted to go back to the days of being a kid, when these were the only media I really used.I remember those days. When it was just so easy to pick up a pencil, run a few strokes of blue over him, and call it a day. Ah, sweet, innocent kiddie drawings. After working on this for a bit, I suddenly wished that I was young enough to get away with that again.
Yeah, so given the media I tend to work with more, I could have got a MUCH more interesting/different (dare I say it...better?) result if I had used markers, or markers in combo with the pencils, but I wanted to give it a go. And I'm glad I did. But for the future, Markers are still my babies *huggles em tight*
Dun ask about the white dots. Sparklies gone wrong. Now he looks like he's in the snow!

:: Gulp. :: Only colored pencils? :: Cowers. :: That's amazing! I just recently started using my markers, so it doesn't feel like too long ago that I stopped using colored pencils so much.. But this just tells me that I need to revisit that region and relearn how to use them. BECAUSE THIS IS UBER FANTASTIC. Loving your work so much gives me 2 different emotions--I feel like destroying all my artwork and giving up--or running off to draw. Seeeeeeeeeee your influence? XD

Color Pencils, markers...I use them both and I'm still mastering them, despite the former I have been using for well over my entire lifetime. I don't think it's the quailities of the markers or color pencil matter, just how the artist use them, and you, my friend, have used it quite well. The shading and shadows is what I am most impressed on. It shows I CAN do these stuff in color pencils (one of the reasons mines looks so messy is because I'm too lazy to sharpen my color pencils). While I admit the bubbles make him look underwater and I don't agree with the BG (Sorry, but I don't like the overall brown in there) I cannot deny how wonderfully done this picture is. Truly a masterpiece.

Now that's a perfect image of Light Jak, oh yes indeed. I adore what you did with Jak's arms... the muscles definitely get me everytime.

I can admit that Light Jak is seen to be so pretty, and the simplistic blue tones help to add a strong amount of light in the darkness. The simplistic color scheme also helps to give in a stronger emphasis on the foreground, and should do well to fit for all the Jak fans out there. ^^
(problem is, there's too many of them - we need just as much love for the other chars, like Daxter, Sig, Erol and all that o.O ok, forget what I said
