Something I've had sitting around for about a week that I ended up finishing up. Really, I think it was just an excuse to put marker to paper for a bit of fun....I think I'll name her 'Sue'. lol.
Edit: Woah, Rainbow hair and yet I don't think alot of people get the name reference. Oh well, I'msuremyJesswillunderstandme <3 <3 X3

Okay since I read that critique guide, i'm gonna test it.
I love how you named it PRISM, cuz I actually understand it.
I really like the fact you only colored the hair and put real effort into doing a grayscale kinda tone for the rest. It creates a good colour conrast.
I love the body and how it kinda "melts" into the BG.
The emotion and kinda "feel" is really cool. The acessories totally compliment that. Although the motion and colors of the hair give kinda a happy sensation.
Now, the lines in the hair are kinda "cartoonish" in a way, compared to the ones for the rest of the body. What would make them look a little less happy by omitting the black lines from the hair entirely. But then again, it's just opinion.

Ahhh... the first pic I come to crit, and I actually really like it as it is...
However. Starting a bit backwards with the colour... I would be interested to see what the effect would be if you coloured in the crystal drops that seem to be her earrings. I think drawing the colour a little lower in places would really make the constrast between colour and monochrome stand out even more. I think that's really the only colour critique I have, given that it strikes me that you wanted the hair to frizz like that? As opposed to a more natural flow?
Now, to the actual lineart... It's hard to know what to advise here, as you said you weren't actually looking to become totally realistic. Because what you have here is beautifully simple, it's not just the same as any other manga/anime artists' drawings (which is a breath of fresh air!) and while it obviously adheres to anime conventions, it breaks away from them as well. In a good way. (says me, knowing very, very little about anime...) Anyways. I might think about rounding the tip of the nose just a little bit more. It seems very sharp against the rest of her features, and perhaps the roundess would soften that a little bit. Not making it natural so much as an interesting merge between the two.
The shading on this piece is lovely and simple, and to be honest, I wouldn't change a bit of it.

Wow, it's been too long since I've visited your gallery. This is really beautiful. I love how the colors in her hair contrast the gray scale of the rest of the piece. Also, her expression is lovely.
