Description
My new scanner/printer beast arrived today! Time to get some art scanned. Here’s the final version of the Raphael picture I’m taking up to Auckgeddon to give to Kevin Eastman (the internet tells me Raph is his fave). My good friend Abby and I have loved Ninja Turtles for quite a long time, and I’m excited we finally get to meet one of the guys who created one of our fandoms.
Yeah, I have issues with parts of this like his hands and feet, not to mention the awful perspective going on but…damn, I love turtles and despite my deadlines for several things I have to do for the con in the way of panels and presentations, I’m happy I could produce something to hand over.
Media-fun-times! Black Ball Point pen, markers, sakura micron inks, acrylics and watercolours.

I think it's great, I love the hatching you did on the ledge, not to mention the way his shell patterns are drawn. I'm sure Kevin Eastman will love it!

That is freeking awesome!!! Love the foreground and how much it differs from the background. It makes it POP more. The only thing I would do is in order to separate the foreground fromt he background (cause the colours are VERY similar) is to select the background in photoshop and just add a haze layer or something. I'll bet you could go further and darken the foreground.
Although I know this is a traditional peice and it's beautiful, it's just something you could do through a digital programme to not lose the artwork itself.

Ha, I saw this later after you had already sent me the example over FB. Agreed, it looks far better with the haze layer, and I'm gonna give it a go trying it myself later. Thanks again for the wonderful advice, hon!
