I highly HIGHLY reccomend you also look at the darker version of this, found here: [link]I really like the darker one because it gives a more 'deep water' look (the blue-ish tones) but I used the lighter scan here on DA since her hair just...seems closer to the real painting at this colour.
I swear I feel like I'm hopping on another bandwagon here - since everyone's uploading The Little Mermaid fanart now that the DVD is out. Though mine was actually brought upon by playing the musical levels of Atlantica in KH2 (yes! I DID play those - hush you! The wierd singing and cheesy dance moves gives me more than my weekly quota of amusement! XD).
Ariel's still one of my fave Disney girls - I remember getting into a little tiff with one of my younger cousins since she thought Ariel wasn't all that great! I was trying to convert her, the poor girl. XD Must be wierd when your over-20 cousin is ranting to you about a cartoon character. X3

'The Little Mermaid' was my first cartoon I've ever loved. I dunno, that may be the first cartoon that actually encouraged me to draw (except, they were only stick figures than).
Anyways, it's awesome!

the darker scan is good stuff, but i like how vibrant her hair looks here. you're so good with acrylics... it's so smooth. @_@ my paintings always come out blocky with acrylics. xD teh envy.

Oh, I really love both of them! Mostly for each of their own attributes that you gave each of them.
Especially Ariel's red hair in this one! I realize I've said this probably hundreds of times before, but I love your colouring!! It's so bright and vivid, and it just sticks out at you!!
(I actually really do love the singing in Atlantica, just because it's not something you normally see in RPG games like Kingdom Hearts and they're so dang FUN!!

I'm not a fan of the little mermaid.
Actually, I'm not terribly much a Disney fan.
They take the real tales and wrench them apart to the four winds, take god knows how many liberties, and then piece them back into happy stories when they aren't always so happy. o.o
Aside from my mini-rant and not liking the little mermaid, from a purely artistic stand point, I think the far cheek is a little bit too chubby, but other than that, it's gorgeous.

By diluting the paint more, then flicking it with different bristled paintbrushes.

wicked work...but I didn't care for the level that much...I mean no heartless underwater...no O - XIII to speek of...and you only used your Keyblade in the songs...but then again I killed my self laughing when Sora tried to dance...oh and Goofy was too damn cute as a turtle...hey hes a turtle twice, hes also one in the pride lands too eeee why can't goofy stay as a turtle ^^

The hair is truly amazing, loff. :3 I guess that's the acrylic part, yes? It looks so smooth, almost like... cotton candy or something. XD; I just want to eeeeat eeeet! I really like how you've added blue to shade her skin, suits well since she's living under the sea and all. <3 And the little flower in her hair, mwah. ;_; Pretty. The BG is also lovely, I just melt away by all the pretty blue tones. :3
I too enjoyed the Atlantice part in KHII. XD; I remember when I first got there, and I was all like "Nuuuuuu!! No again!! I hate fighting underwater!!" (I actually hated it in the first game, hard to control Sora I think, especially during battle). But theeeen... Everything you had to do was to dance and sing. XD I nearly laughed my ass of the first time Sora started to dance (the little test in the very beginning), it was so cute. x3 My fav is still Goofy, I absolutely love Goofy. <3
