Like...full view for the pretty reds n' stuff.This was a fun play with the gouache. :3 What started out as a Dark Jak sketch turned out to be a good trial with a bunch of medium (most of all the paint and marker)...Oh gosh, the gouache on the blood was SO uberly fun. Almost TOO fun! Got to blotch it, drip it and smear it as well. I love the fact that it's like he has a head-wound hidden by his goggles and hair.
Though there's these details that don't turn up in the scan - that gash in his left shoulder (our right) actually has this shine to it much like deep gashes do when they start oozing blood. And his shirt actually looks alot like a butcher's apron does after a day of cutting up meat. Also rather happy with the blood around his mouth (yeah...he went all-out crazy with his kill...god only knows what he tore up).
I was going to add some black in the BG - but now I'm glad I didn't. It would have been overkill, and the black border does fine.
{EDIT} Thanks for those who made suggestions on the blood - though I'm ticked that people didn't follow my wishes and started to crit stuff. Finished piece that I rather love and asked NOT to have crit on. I wish people would learn to read.

And may I say you've done a wonderful job on creating a very gory and blood.dripping Dark Jak, and STILL made him look so damn shmexy! Gnarh! How do you do it? *stealKai'ssecrets* x3 Also I am glad to hear you had fun with Goache, it is indeed a wonderful medium to work with, I loves it. What I am loving most about this, is Jak's hair detail, his horns and the very deep scar on his shoulder. Everything about this is so dark and sexy. Argh.

firstoffall I especially like the scruffylook Jak has <3 With the little tooth sticking out and the scruffies on his chin <3 Makes me think that hes been out rampaging too long and hasn't had time to shave
I lovelove how some of it looks a little bit dried, but you can tell that some of its fresh. And the red on his horns is so pretty.

i know what it remindes me of in my head..... have you ever read the comic "i feel sick" by Jhonen Vasquez?... guess it remindes me of the work the gil in the book was working on... kinda onbe of those things where you take all the time you have and put everything else aside to workon just this becasue its somthing you need to do for yourself.... ::shrugs:: im not a big comic person at all.. but yeah

I think a little bit of blood splatter would work really nicely.. Make sure to control it, though, otherwise it make be overkill.. @_@ (Of course, overkill and Dark Jak DO go hand-in-hand.) Not really too much of a crit, but, his mouth... that one half seems a little.. washed out and faded. Personally I would doctor it up and make it darker, maybe, define it a little against the blood around his mouth. But other than that, man.. this is soo perfect. XD And now I understand what you were talking about when you made that LJ about bloody stuff.. Everything is so blood soaked! *o* It just looks so much like real blood.. XD Especially on the white.. It really does look like a butcher's apron. x3 (Haha! D-Jak is a butcher. He specializes in K-G Meat. XD)
