Personality: (This backstory is the same for both brothers, individual personality/details are in the next paragraph): After Vivi, Latch and his brother Alloy were the next "troubled" mons the ranch received. Though their situation was not quite as bad, it had still caused problems. Both brothers had passed hands many times, but neither one ever seemed to find a "home". Thankfully they were at least able to stay together.

Latch is the more reserved and sullen of the two brothers. He is more cautious, and takes on a more advisory role. He is very attached to and always worries about his brother, as he is all he has. While both are wary of trusting humans and mons beside themselves, Latch is likely to keep to himself, and at first rarely would speak to anyone besides his brother. When they first arrived though, he and his brother were sure this would be just another place to pass through, and he was surprised the female human blacksmith (Hally) and the "greeter" mon (Piper) were so set on trying to make them feel "at home". He was less taken in by Hally's enthusiasm with including him and his brother in the forge and it's operations, but he had a certain quiet curiosity about how it all worked. Even so, Alloy had to talk him into giving the place a chance, to which he mostly agreed for his brother's sake, hoping this was something that would make him happy. Hally suggested changing his name slightly as well, but mostly to make it shorter, and more practical, fitting his personality.

Main role: It took a lot more effort to get Latch to try different things in the forge, to try to find his niche, but his brother and some of the other mons encouraged him and finally succeeded in getting him to try things out. It was interesting to find that he was actually very technically-minded, and proved to be one of the very few mons who could actually help build and repair a lot of the machines and tools around the forge, giving him the title of "Head Mechanic". Once he found that he had a "useful" skill, he started feeling better about the idea that maybe he and his brother finally had found something to be a part of and someplace to belong.

Name Meaning: Name partly changed from previous owner's. Goes almost exclusively by Latch.
