AntinousΒ 111 AD - 130 ADEmperor Hadrian's lover, tragically drowned in the Nile river at 19 years of age.
Hadrian made him a god and Temples were created throughout the empire.
Hadrian built a city in Egypt and named it in his honour, Antinopolous.
Over 2000 statues of him were commissioned. 88 still exist today.
