Description
A model of the fighter craft from the Descent game series. The Pyro GX is made from cardboard and paper only. Painted using acrylic model kit paints. Missile tubes are different than the classic Pyro GX but follows the new Pyro GX from "Into Cerberon", a Descent like mod for DooM 3.Related content

You're welcome! I did a google search looking for some good shots of the -GX yesterday when I saw this as one of the results, and when I saw that the link lead to DeviantArt, I just had to look closer. Always great to run into another fan of the ole beauty.

It was one of the things that drew me in as a kid! I enjoyed Descent 3 a lot more when I found the Pyromania mod! The Pyro model that one includes is beautiful..

I've still got all those old Descent games, and they still play, too. ^_^
But I wonder, where do all the primary and secondary weapons go? I mean, with weapons like the Fusion Cannon, Mega Missiles, and Earthshaker Missiles, you'd think that the Pyro would be "overburdened."
...Aw, whatever. The Pyro can do that 'cuz it's just that awesome!

This is really well made, nice job.
What I don't get is how a ship so small can carry so many weapons and have such a large capacity for energy, and have such powerful engines.

haha... thanks. its quite simple. lots of cardboard, glue and plenty of patience.

Hey! Yeah I did upload some pics and my progress of building the model at planetdescent. I'm actually trying to make a manual or instruction on how to build it but been very busy due to the army.
