Maybe pokeballs have a safety-release that automatically lets the pokemon out a day after it was put in? Could they conceivably starve while in there?

Wow that's some well equipped pokeball... hmm it MUST be Team R's Wobbuffet, I bet they earn enough cash to buy some super-deluxe pokeballs while Ash and co. have to deal with bed-made-of-straw economical versions XD It's good to be Bad.

I have always wondered about this and this is gotta be something like it really is but if it is like this wouldn't poke balls cost really much more? And really I would feel lonely if I was a pokemon and never released from it.
