Description
This is a small black undead bird perched on a leafless tree on an overcast day. It was done in graphite, and inspired largely by Stephen Gammell, like most of my work posted here.UPDATE: This is now the cover of a book called Souillures by François Dionne (ISBN 978-2-98166-050-3). You can get a copy here!

While this is still free to use under the conditions that you credit me and send me a copy of whatever medium you use it in, I'd suggest checking out my gallery for more works that haven't been claimed yet:

Reminds me of the birds found around this one African soda lake.

Would you mind someone using this as a tattoo design, or, are you perhaps open for commissions?

I can hardly imagine a higher honer! Sorry it took me so long to get back. You may use it for free as a tattoo, but I'd request you send me a photo of the inspired work!

I am a writer and I would like to use this drawing for the cover of my next novel. Is it possible?

Yes! All of the pieces CURRENTLY here are free for anyone to use so long as they give proper credit and one copy of whatever medium it's used in - so for your case it would be a copy of your book. Thanks for asking!

Hello
You can look into my account to see how the covers of the book looks like.
In the credits, do you want me to use khantheripper or your real name (or both)?
The novel should be out in december.
Thank you again, I really appreciate your work.

The drawings are fantastic and so are the titles that you come up with. They sound just like something Alvin Schwartz would have come up with in the books.

I love Stephen Gammell's work. You capture his style very well and add a twist that's all your own. Great job.

Love the way the feathers are done, still there, but falling off at the same time, great job on this one.

Very impressive. I absolutely love your work. I am a huge Stephen Gammell Fan, and yes you were correct when you said there are not alot of us. I grew up completely obsessed by the illustrations in scary stories and I love to see others like me. It's rare.

Why thank you! It sounds as though I have a fan. I will try to come out with more. BTW, what exactly is the Dark Arts Asylum and how does one get in?

Indeed, you do
The Dark Arts Asylum is basicly a place where darker artists hang and usually get to have their art featured. It explains everything here-
