Description
Been getting a few questions, so here's a quick update on how things have been going on.
That thing up there is the current version of the pause screen of the new mode (which I'm internally calling "Survival" by the way, though that might change). There's a few extra things I wanted to show on the screen, which is why I needed to reduce the amount of space each character portrait+healthbar took on the screen, and this was the best solution I managed to have. The extra spaces are to show Mega Pony's extra abilities (which are granted to you when you lose enough ponies and you have recovered certain Elements of Harmony), and which elements you have collected. On top of being a decent way of tracking progress, the amount of Elements of Harmony you have remaining can affect which ending you can get. And yes, that means you can actually lose elements of harmony along the way.
Speaking of the ending, that brings me to... problems. Survival Mode is technically done. Absolutely everything works already. I have kept modifying and adjusting a few things, but it's been actually finished for a while. The only thing holding me back from releasing the damn thing is the ending. I had an ambitious plan. Not only did it prove to be TOO ambitious, but it wasn't even working as well as I hoped. Been trying a few different things. I'm STILL trying a few different things, and I'm still not completely sure what the best decision is, but that's basically why this is taking so long and considering I've been completely silent for months, I think you guys deserve to know.
I'm not making any promises when it comes do dates or anything, but once I finally figure out what exactly to do with the ending, I'll be able to release this brand-new version of the game immediately. Hopefully, it won't take much longer!

heres an idea, and its just an idea:Β Β Release what you have, but make sure you tell people that it is a wip build, and to anyone who plays it, to please either A: report their problems, B: record game-play footage, or C: have something in-game that records what they do, so you can see exactly what they did
Btw, nice new screen

Since you both had the same idea, here's a copy-pasted comment. Yay, efficiency!
I've been thinking about this and... I think getting a few (or even a lot) of playtesters would be just about perfect at this point. I'm not aware of any more bugs, and as I said, everything's fully complete in terms of function, but you know how it goes, there's always ssomething left to break in any game!
It's actually kinda sorta what I did with the full version of Mega Pony. If you were around back then you'll remember I actually did three separate releases of the game at different states of completion. The only thing that makes me a bit worried about doing this, is that if I release this version publicly, the "actual" release of the update is not gonna get much attention. And I'm worried because looking at download numbers of all versions of Mega Pony I released, the least downloaded ones are always ones that are more or less a follow-up on a big release. The only exception is a quick update on the final version that fixed a game-breaking bug, but that was done just hours after release.
So I kept thinking about it. I don't want to release it publicly just yet, but at the same time, I DO want to let anyone who wants to playtest it to do so. Soooooo how can I do that exactly?
Aaaaaaaaand I think the answer is Discord. Not the character, the application! So how would you guys feel about a Mega Pony Discord server? I think it'll work perfectly! I can post a build of the game, and we can pretty much immediately talk about problems and bugs or even ideas and whatnot, and I won't have to come up with excuses to talk about progress on Deviantart or Youtube (meaning I won't need to come up with a new piece of art/video just to start talking like I've been doing until now, haha).
If I have a bit more free time this weekend, I might even go ahead and create the server as soon as tomorrow!
What do you think?

I think thats a great idea
Discord would be a great way of allowing people to play what is available, and reporting any bugs
Just be sure to leave a link to your server, when you have made it

Spiffy new pause screen, not bad at all! Nice.
All right, here's a thought - feel free to throw me under a bus immediately for even suggesting it. But. Perhaps just release it as a ".5" version up date, that is, not quite complete, to get some feedback on gameplay changes as well as the new mode itself, because ending or no ending, if something goes wrong, people may not make it that far. And then once you do settle on an ending and finalize it, you can release it as another update.
I of course don't mean that in any sort of "I've lost faith in you" manner, please don't get me wrong! Just offering a thought.
Mean time, I'll keep waiting and hoping for this to be finished! I'm so anxious and excited, knowing it's almost complete! Whoo!
