Materials: Prismacolor pencils on black Artagain paper

Originally I wanted to do this picture for the before and after contest in September. I did some work on it but I was sick the whole last week right before classes started. I reluctantly put it down when I got over the sickness and took up 14 more credits. It wasn't until November when I picked it up again and finished the rest.
I cannot help but feel some sense of satisfaction when I look at it despite all of the obstacles that I had to get over before finishing it. Three years ago I used the reference from a magazine. I'd had no formal training and I was completely self taught then. What a difference a few classes and a new attitude toward art can make.
