09/12/2019:

Recently got a commission and needed to do a ref sheet remake REAL fast cause I completely redesigned this mount. Instead of being a bunch of animals at random that I like, I combined one's for their strengths (speed) and pattern (jaguar) that live in similar areas in Pangea, aka the world Aeonian is set in.

So now she gets a COMPLETE MAKE OVER and is all warm colors!! I also looked at mexican saddles (since she's owned by Ember/Coal) for inspiration, too! ;u;

Part of me thinks...I should make her bigger, but then, when I put her up to Spirit side by side with size accuracy he looks so LITTLE!!

I think I'm going to make spirit a bit bigger, but not by more than a few inches. When we're talking wither's height, like horses...Alonda and Spirit are BOTH horse size, lmao. Alonda being about 5'3" at the withers, and Spirit being about 5'10" with just...more neck, well. I think THAT is a funny image. Spirit is just a babie

So I finally designed the creature that would be the Alfonso twin’s companion and ride! Her name is Alondra and she’s a lovely mixture of snow leopard, gazelle, red elk, and fox! I took inspiration from Avatar: TLA/LOK and Studio Ghibli in combining animals in this world. After all, there ARE dragon deities
This animal is probably going to be one I’ll draw often just for fun, despite her probably not having too big of a role in the actual plot of the webcomic!
