first of all you'll need very much time
I drew girl and boy with pencil (it was about 200 sheets of paper) and after scanning I coloured it in PS and merge it all up in adobe afterFX

hmm it tooks about one month I think - I got some othr stuff to do so I didn't spend all of my time on this. I don't know name of this

I like the texture, but I think that keeping it static isn't helping out too much. Would you consider using a texture that would move with the animation? Maybe just remove the distracting portion (orange organic shape) at the top right?

main inspiration was Bulat Okudżawa's poem-song 'blue baloon'. My father sang that song for me when I was kid.
