Although I haven't read your story yet (BUT I WILL, it looks awesome!) I just knew you'd be a browncoat.

Haha oh yeah? What tipped you off? Do read the story though! If you like Firefly, it'll likely be right up your alley!

Not sure what - some of the characters immediately made me think of the Serenity's crew but it was the general feel of it I think.
I read almost all of it yesterday and once I've finished some college work (oh great procrastinating brain, why do you procrastinate so?) I'll read the rest but I'm loving it so far!
(I'm still trying to work out how to pronouce Fiearius though, lol)

There's definitely a lot of inspiration from Firefly I came up with the Dionysian and its basic crew shortly after seeing the Serenity movie in theaters haha. Though that was way back when now. It's changed a lot but it still has the core fundamental of the common man's space opera.
Aww I'm so glad that you like it ;; Seriously. People actually reading it and enjoying it never gets old for me. So thank you so so much.
And it's fee-AIR-ee-uhs haha. I know. It's weird

It's hard not to be inspired by it tbh - I have a few OCs I use for RPs that are set in a world that's taken rather a lot of inspiration from the 'verse. (although not too much, it's a lot more shiny tech-wise (literally - touchscreens and holograms and aliens, oh my!)but Ruby is pretty much just a cowboy con artist who happens to also live in space.)
I'm finally starting to be able to draw them properly (damned muse keeps buggering off with my creativity, lol) so that's encouraging!
D'aww, it's a pleasure! I need to catch up on the latest couple of pages - I'm not used to things updating so often! lol (and unfortunately it makes me want to watch Firefly again but I can't because I lent my discs to a friend and she's even worse than me at sending stuff back! D
Gotcha! This is why just about all my charries have monosyllabic names. Kes, Skai, Lix...ok, Ruby and Bacchus are the exceptions but as a rule I tend to instinctively go for short, snappy names. XD

Hah yeah, it's not our fault they created such a unique and epic take on traditional sci-fi. Same way Star Trek started the 'military/expedition space travel', Firefly started the 'light space opera'. Its strength I think is that it bridges the gap between what is a long-standing cliche in the genre of 'super nerdy' with something more accessible to the common man. Even if...it wasn't accessible enough at the time...Oh well. But really. Who wouldn't want that?
Ah yes...we do upload quite a lot. Are you reading on DA or on the main site because the main site updates three times a week Because we're insane
And obsessed
And regret nothing
I know what you mean though. Since I started writing this, it's made me want to go back and watch Firefly every couple months. Pretty sure it's still on Netflix streaming if you've got access to that

*nods* Having some of the best character development in the world probably didn't hurt either.
On the main site! I need to catch up on a LOT now but I quite like falling behind at times - gives me more to read later. XD Nothing wrong with a good obsession though, I wish I could churn out that much awesome on a regular basis!
Alas no! I'm a cheapskate so I don't bother with things like that. (plus I procrastinate too much to actually sit down and watch stuff)

Nope, amazing characters definitely did not hurt
Actually I know what you mean. Were I a reader, I'd probably wait a month or so before actually catching up so I wouldn't have to wait haha. Not that I encourage that behavior or anything >_>

Joss does seem to have an addiction to killing nice people o.o Like he can't allow happiness in the world. All good things must wither
Hah right. Well I hope the rest doesn't let ya down

But he's so awesome you can't hate him for long. (well, aside from when you wish he'd learned to NOT put his shows on Fox XD)
I doubt it will seeing as it's been brilliant thus far!

there's something every cute and funny going on here.
I really like this kind of shading (I can't ever seem to shade like this!). I think I like it because of the way you use the shading to create volume for folds in the clothes. The little flowery pattern is so cute <3
