hs11-art told me to do an animation of a pegasus person summoning their wings. So I did. This was done really quick so it's super rough, no inbetweens. I'll smooth it out if I have time

I just don't care for this AU idea, sorry... Their center of gravity is just too far off-center to be agile fliers. To actually glide they'd need to twist their shoulders forward a good 60 degrees to be at a good gliding/flapping for altitude angle. They'd just be dragging so much extra weight around that doing flips and stunts and whatnot are just REALLY insanely hard.
(Of course, we can just wave all that away due to magic, but still, I had to say it or it was going to drive me crazy.

It actually is their pegasus magic XD
Points from the study :
- They can summon their wings whenever they'd like (even just one at a time)
- Feathers also appear on the side that their wings are out on (on their back, neck, chest and face)
- They have thumbs and finger-like appendages on the inside of their wings so they're capable of holding stuff in the air
- They rely on their pegasus magic to stay in the air meaning that they are able to fly without necessarily flapping (their wings do give them more speed when used and are very helpful when turning)
- To use their "pegasus magic" (both) their wings must be summoned
- Younger pegasus children's magic is not that strong so they have to flap their wings to stay in the air at all (As they get older, the magic grows stronger. The rate at which their magic gets stronger varies from child to child)

Going through the comments, I saw you don't have an actual animation program. I'm learning to use pencil (it's free) which is a 2D animation program, you can export in traditionally drawn pictures to animate as well as sketch it out on the program.

You should do something with the body aswell, so she doesn't just stand their. Like let her bend forward when she crosses her arms and then when she summons her wings by swooping down her arms, let her body move with the motion. You'll get a far more interesting animation if you do that.

Haha I definitely would if I could do it traditionally with some downshooters XP I don't have an animation program and I just wanted to get the basic motion since I just threw it in a gifmaker and hoping I didn't make any mistakes (then having to go back and redo the whole thing XD). In this headcanon, their arms are able to turn into wings with ease so I didn't want to overdo it haha

Haha, I see, welp yeah that might be a bit troubling. Ever tried TVPaint (there are less than legal version, only not for Mac), I hear Photoshop has limited animation capabilites.

Ah toon boom, that's a pretty great program aswell, alot of studios use that program I believe.

Aaaah you should~ Most people use it for their portfolios nowadays since that's where some companies have been going to hire peeps. It's a great way to reach out to people in the industry as they are usually very responsive. It can get you more exposure than sites like dA if you play your cards right. I'm actually being followed from some artists at Nick and CN and making some connections

This makes me imagine that young pega-people do motions that are very involved in order to summon their wings. As they get older and more experienced, summoning becomes quicker, like a flick of the wrist if anything.
The arm crossing feels very Kamen Rider.
