ok im trying to practice the coloring some more and now i tried using the gradient tool a little more tell me your thoughts please as in what i did good and wrong

The gradient use here is fine I think. Though in general, I would say not to use gradients at all. Most people use them incorrectly, and I really feel they're more trouble than they're worth. In this case, your gradients are so gradual that they don't look bad (in and of themselves), but they also don't add much in the way of shading. You'd do better to just practice your blending instead. That way, you can actually make the darks appear dark, and the highlights light, etc.
Overall, it's not a bad job. My biggest concern is....Is that Bevel Emboss?! I honestly can't tell if that a valley or a cliff face behind him.

well yeah it is some kinda bevel, and its a valey since u can see the walls in the back, if those were green then it wouldve been a cliff, i also had that problem but i accidentally saw someone elses coloring and it made more sense that it is a valey
this is ust my 4th coloring when i used gradient for the first time since the first 3 times i did cel-shading, though cel-shading would fit naruto manga better i guess
