I silently crept around the corner of the building, gliding my hand along the smooth concrete surface. My ears perked, listening as I heard a rustle from the bushes across the way from me. I stopped in my tracks. My tail flicked suspiciously as I sniffed the wind. The rustling continued as I watched on. Maybe the shattered moonlight was playing tricks on my eyes. Deciding to ignore it I continued on my way. Stalking the shadows of the trees and lampposts. My target was just a head of me. The train station, I was heading for the midnight express train out of Vale. Being a faunus wasn’t the best thing to be right now. The White Fang were making a mess of everything, slandering our good name and making us a glutton for mockery and discrimination. Prejudice ran deep here.

I wasn’t running away with anything, just my weapon- I was a soldier after all. I got through the station building, hiding my ears and tail with my cloak. I was almost there. The train station platform seemed to go on forever. I leaned against the railing at the end of the platform, shifting my weight from one leg to the other. The drowsiness was getting to me as I slid down the railing to the floor where I sat. Nothing bad had happened so far.

The train arrived promptly, its lights blinding me as I stood up shakily. I staggered to the open doors and found a vacant carriage to rest in. I sat on the uncomfortable wooden chair, looking out the window. Leaving your life was a hard thing to do, but it was for the best. I couldn’t handle the pressure any longer. My cloak hood fell down, off my head. I reached up slowly, brushing my (hair colour) ears and locks as I sighed. I figured that it would be a good idea to keep my hood up, I didn’t want them to notice me too quickly.

Pulling the hood back over my head I rested my head on the windowsill. Curling up into the corner of the carriage I took in my surroundings. The carriage door was directly next to the train’s exit door. Perfect for a quick escape. My weapon, a gun-sword hybrid was resting in gun form in its pouch on my waist. It was fully loaded of course, just in case anything got ugly.

I sighed again as the train started to move. This was going to be a ride. I closed my (eye colour) eyes in the hope of getting some sleep. I wanted the ride to be over already, even though it had only just started. Succumbing to sleep, I gave in and rested peacefully. My escape had started.

I awoke with a start as the train jerked sideways, changing tracks. It was dawn. The sun was starting to rise and the broken moon had almost set. Suddenly, a reflection in the window caught my eye. I looked at the figure discreetly, my eyes widened in horror as I saw a man. He had orange hair with a side swept fringe, a black bowler hat and a white pinstriped jacket. His cane was resting beside him, leaning against the widow side of the carriage.

‘Shit!’

Here he was, the one I was trying to escape. He must have gotten on without me knowing, when I was asleep. This guy here, he is smart and cunning, yet dark and mysterious. How did he get here? The train was on a non-stop line to place where I was getting off. If anything happens now, I am going to ask the bastard how he got here and why he needed me. Boy did I have questions for him…

However, in my current situation my first priority was to get out of here. I slowly stood up, making as little sound as possible seeing as he appeared to be asleep. I tip toed to the door and slid it open, wincing as it made a clicking noise as it opened. Stepping out the door I felt something snag on my (favourite colour) cloak. I looked behind me, but saw no hand. It seemed like he had not moved from his previous position. I tried to step away again but no avail. I turned around again to see what could possibly be there restricting my movement.

There it was, the thing that was caught on my cloak. It was a shoe. His shoe. Panicking internally I desperately searched for an idea. Should I rip my cloak? Hell no, not on my life. Should I move his foot? That would be risky. Should I just remove my cloak? No, that would make it easier for him to follow me. I bent down and tried to remove my cloak from under his foot. I heard a clicking noise, which startled me. Looking up, I met a pair of deep green eyes. A smirk was plastered on his face. I stared at him in horror, eyes widening and my mouth gaped. He turned his attention away from me to the source of the clicking noise, which was his lighter. Bringing it closer to his cigar he lit it. He took a breath in and blew the smoke out. He turned his attention back to me. I was still on the floor, paralysed.

“Hello (Name). Why are you running away?”

’Damn you Roman Torchwick, damn you!’
