they are on a level that covers the pencil.

great ^^
you said once that you color them in photoshop with a mouse, but the color level seemed too damn high even for the most skilled mouse wielder

Blacklightning777 [2012-01-06 20:27:35 +0000 UTC]

i have a few questions just by observing this carefully i notice you colored a box around the dirty sketch...do you use the whole paper when drawing? how big do you draw when doing this? how do you make the dirty sketch clean, is it inking or digitally? what steps and priorities do you take when coloring, what stuff do you do first then finish up with?????

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kibbitzer In reply to Blacklightning777 [2012-01-06 21:04:32 +0000 UTC]

oh God .. how many questions!
approximately half A4 sheet.
The 2° drawing is clean, but sometimes you need to adjust levels in photoshop.
the small annoying marks vanish.
I use only pencil.

when I color this is the order:
base color without shading. (the background color is always the first)
sharp shadows.
more detailed and soft shades.
sharp lights.
soft lights.

Blacklightning777 In reply to Kibbitzer [2012-01-06 23:16:48 +0000 UTC]

how do you make the clean sketch so black though

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kibbitzer In reply to Blacklightning777 [2012-01-06 23:20:19 +0000 UTC]

pencil, just pencil.
there is no secret.

Blacklightning777 In reply to Kibbitzer [2012-01-07 01:12:05 +0000 UTC]

do you put the sketches in a scanner

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kibbitzer In reply to Blacklightning777 [2012-01-07 01:36:06 +0000 UTC]

of course!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Blacklightning777 In reply to Kibbitzer [2012-01-07 02:17:11 +0000 UTC]

ahh i dont have a scanner Dx, do you clean the unwanted lines, or does photoshop get rid of them when your fixing the contrast or stuff?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kibbitzer In reply to Blacklightning777 [2012-01-07 02:33:58 +0000 UTC]

it's similar to the contrast, but you must use a histogram..
ahhh it's difficult to explain in English XD
Btw it's just a detail!
You can delete the small inaccuracies with the rubber
